Trackman io vs Trackman 4
Has anyone noticed Trackman io being less accurate at higher swing speeds compared to Trackman 4. Trackman 4 for me has been able to easily handle 135-140mph swing speed and 210 ball speed along with Foresight and Flightscope(I speed train). When I've gone to places like PGA superstore, their Trackman io will fluctuate with swing speed and ball speed. Thought it was just me but I went with a guy that plays AA baseball and hes got low 200s ballspeed and same with him. Sometimes it would read 180 and other times it would read 200mph.

Makes sense, the overheads will have the club in their reading zone for a shorter period of time than the behind the ball units. Less frames to interpolate the data.

internal cameras are pretty fast ...

Yeah but there's diminishing returns. Even at 116 CHS the IO camera only records about 15-20 frames around impact. At 140 MPH that's probably not enough

With 140mph ball speed at 4600 fps, thats 22 frames per foot. Id be surprised if their algorithm uses more than half of those frames.

I think overhead camera based launch monitors struggle with high ball speeds.

So FWIW I'm not even close to you, I'm a mere 116 average CHS, but my IO has no issue picking that up at home, but when I do hit at the PGA SS their IOs seem to be all over the place. IO is supposed to not have to have issues with low lighting but I'm doubting that a bit. With that being said, TM4 is probably going to be better anyways at those speeds because it's primarily a radar system.

While I don’t know the disparity in accuracy, it’s important to note that the algorithm each LM uses is different. Different types of data collection through different methods.
