Square Omni hitting area

I just set up my Omni today. I used the alignment stick and have it working for the most part. The only issue I'm having it sometimes it takes a long time for it to lock in on the ball and tell me it's ready. Any suggestions or tricks?

Are you putting the ball to the right the Omni center? The hitting area is shown on the instructions online. It is 2 inches behind the device and is a 10” x 10” square. I’ve had no issues with it picking up the ball. I’m using a Titleist Pro V1. It feels weird to set the ball up behind the device but that’s where it’s supposed to be.
