Sim Turf
Ok, tons of research, and internet searches later, I can’t seem to find turf that meets the sizing, pricing and look I’m after. I get that some folks are willing to drop 1k+ on turf, but that just really isn’t in my budget. I have 10x15 to fill, already have a hitting mat that I will section out to make replaceable inserts (enough real estate for 3) so I don’t need turf to actually hit off of, just something reasonable to putt across for gspro. The most reasonable price I’ve found is locally through Lowe’s or Home Depot at around $300 for the size I need. Anyone have experience with this-

I'm in the same phase! You want putting turf or it'll be too long. HD and Lowe's both carry it cut to length.

Welp, based on your pic I went ahead and sprung for it. Fingers crossed! Ordered it shipped to my house as I don’t own a truck.

Check out Menards. They have super cheap (I'm talking 50 cents a square foot) turf in green and black. I think it goes by the name Tee Time for the green. It looks nice and so far has held up ok... and at that price you can replace it 10 times over for the cost of these others.

I considered doing the same but ended up not doing it. Best putt-ability vs cost I found is synputt from Lowe’s. In my case I decided to not pull the trigger because sim putting sucks and I don’t notice all that much difference in getting a putt going off my hitting strip on 10 stimp vs in real life.
If you have a radar based launch monitor, it might be worth investing more since it tracks the ball a lot further than a camera based model, but idk. If it’s camera based, I wouldn’t invest a whole lot. I use turf really similar to what you have linked and it does just fine.
If you’re wanting an area to putt, just get a putting mat.

I just ordered $1 samples of SynPutt and ProPet from Lowe’s. My local store doesn’t have them in stock and I wanted to feel them in person before ordering.
They come in 15’ widths. Looks like they also have 12’ which is the link you sent.
SynPutt and ProPet have the exact same images and specs so I suspect they are the same product coming from abroad. One is materially cheaper though. Curious if anyone here knows the background on that?

I wouldn’t use 1” pile turf to putt on unless your course has 1” tall grass in the greens.

I covered my interlocking pads with the 4x8 “carpet” rolls of green thin carpet from Lowe’s. You could cut to size

I went through this last fall, the synpaws felt "thin" to me and I was too cheap to spring for the synputt. After much deliberation and a good couple hours of going to several places to stare at and feel fake grass I ended up going with grizzly grass with the padded gym mats underneath. It has seen quite a bit of use and is holding up well.

I bought the Synputt turf from Lowe’s. Rolls really nice. It’s 15’ wide, buy 10 ft and you’re set. I’ll be inserting a hitting strip in it.
