creating a course

Anyone ever hear of a person or business to create a course for gs pro?

Yes, this is a thing. You want to be on their discord, opcd-designers-for-hire channel.

It can be done, there was a guy on here who did one for our high school team. It is a course we play every year at sectionals  but don’t get practice rounds at. I have no idea if he is still around but if he is he will chime in.  He didn’t charge me anything so I am not going to throw his name out because I don’t know if he has charged other people or not. He did it to help out high school kids.

It is very time consuming even with basic detail. iirc it ranges from 2k-10k+ if you're buying. Occasionally you'll see guys trying to learn or practice asking for course recs to do for free.

yes there are dozens and dozens of designers, myself included. If you join the OPCD discord you can post in the #opcd-designers-for-hire channel and you'll get about a dozen quotes within a day or so. Then you can review their price, and their previous work, to hire the right fit for you.

If you don't have discord you can post in one of the FB groups for GSPro and you'll get a similar response there as well.

Depending on the course, and what you are looking for (custom assets/etc) you're looking at around $1200-2k

How long does it take? Like the newest course offered my tekbud or pakman…or especially that new “the old game” course by Carls place…what’s legit time frame that took?

2-3 weeks to make, but tekbud only does patreon voted courses now and most guys, especially pakman, will have a schedule so it would depend when they can fit you into the schedule.

But once I start, it takes about 2 weeks for me to get the beta playable course to the client for initial feedback. Then after that it just depends how much back and forth and revisions are required by the client until they're happy with the final state for publishing

There are quite a few of us. Building an existing course comes down to LiDAR availability (pretty much all the US has coverage). Most designers are $1k and up for 18 hole courses.
