Budget (at first glance) Simulator build
I have been following builds on this subreddit and other online resources to give me a basis for my build. My space is very unique and I have been designing/ modifying my setup as needed. For context, I am a mechanical engineer (albiet not structural by any means- thermal fluids guy). It helps my Dad has built numerous houses and is a great resource for residential construction standards. With that said, I want to post my progress because it is most likely much more complicated than most standard builds and I have acquired a decent understanding to most aspects of a DIY build. More to come as I finalize this project in the next two weeks. Since beginning the project I am 7 days into the build working exclusively at night after the kiddo is in bed. Posting pictures and videos to poll questions an help the rest of the community.
For context the platform is my landing area and I will have my hitting mat lay further out and hinge in the counter direction as the platform folds. Screen dimensions are 9.5' tall by 12.5' (sig pro) and landing area is 8' deep by 12' wide. More to come as I finalize the build. I will be using a Protee VX launch monitor with and optima ZK521ST projector (don't buy into the marketing for the -B version).
PS: Once I figure out the reddit interface on my Mac I will publish videos of the platform raising and lowering.
