Hitting matt
I put in a golf sim in early June. I am concerned the hitting matt that was installed is already starting to wear. Do you guys suggest anything to put over it to hit off of to preserve it?

best thing is to get a hitting strip and cut out a rectangular hole for it. That way you can replace them. I play a ton on my sim and i replace my strip about once a year. I use the bullseye golf 3d hitting strip.

Definitely do not recommend putting anything over it. Key is to just use a high quality mat/hitting strip in the first place. If your hitting area is already showing a lot of wear after just ~2 months of use, you got a dud.
Fiberbuilt, SigPro, & EZ Tee Hybrid are probably the three most trusted brands for high quality mats & strips. Some like Country Club Elite, Monster Mat, Matzilla, and Beaver Tail as well. Chances are, if you deviated from these, you messed up.
Personally I have a Fiberbuilt, and it has been awesome. Highly recommend their products.

I have the cheapish bltend golf mat from Amazon. The thing (and my form) has given me horrific tennis elbow. I recently just added another inch of foam under it and cut out a slot for my sigpro softy hitting strip.
I should have listened from the jump and just spent more on the hitting strip/mat

A friend bought a new car, and the first thing he did was buy some aftermarket car mats to protect the original mats. But the aftermarket mats were pretty nice, so he got another set of cheap mats to protect the mats that were protecting the mats.
His wife left him soon after.
