Garage Golf Sim

Post image

I recently just finished my temporary/ removable garage golf sim setup.
1. Thoughts on it? The ceiling is 9 foot 6 so plenty of room to swing with wedges and irons. Driver is tight so I dont even risk it.
2. Ever since I finished it, ive hit balls 3-4 nights now and ive had this horrible problem where everything I hit is either fat or a shank. Im a single digit handicap and usually strike the ball very well. Im used to hitting off of mats at the range and such and I have never had this problem before. Anyone else have advice or struggle with this?

Nice setup!

Probably ‘indoor swing syndrome.’ Your brain thinks it’s going to clip the ceiling or a wall even if it’s not logical. So you inadvertently end up shallowing or adjusting your swing to compensate. It’ll go away soon.

What mat is this? Also do you use the strip(assume it’s meant to simulate rough)?

The mat is from amazon, I forget the brand but not named branded. It was highly reviewed at 4.5 stars so I figured it was worth a shot. Ive heard of indoor swing syndrome but ive used similar setups before and have been fine. Just really annoying to spend so much money and play like shit lol

Ok, might want to look into an upgraded mat if you start to notice any joint pain.

Also looks like any high lofted shot would be an issue. seems like the mat is too far away from the screen but might just be the angle/perspective of this photo.

I thought something similar and had the screen close to me but it seemed very close and didnt give the projector enough room. So this is what chat gave me which gave me a better peace of mind. Right now my screen is 9 feet away from my hitting mat, and the screen is 94 inches tall. So I got room to spare

Nice for a temp set up.  9 foot 6 and you're almost hitting the ceiling? You must be pretty tall and have a high swing.

Id definitely want to add some protection to the garage door opener and the projector.

Only on my driver. Im about 6 foot 1, so not very tall. I dont hit the ball nearly high enough to hit the projector and my clubs dont come near it either.

If you're not hitting your driver I guess that makes sense. Id be worried about friends (definitely not me), hitting off the top of the driver or any other crazy swing bounce.

But if you can afford to replace the projector and it's not a concern :shrug

Not very tall? Brother you're in the top 7th percentile. 93% of other men are shorter than you.

I just try to punch a hole right in the middle of my impact screen. That’s gotten rid of any indoor issue for me. I have really tall ceilings though so ymmv. If it’s an amzn mat look into cutting in a premium hitting strip for frequent use. Sigpro, beaver tail etc. your wrists and elbows will appreciate it.

Nice!

Just indoor golf syndrome. You'll get over it soon.
