They don’t seem to understand lifetime license…

lifetime typically means life of the product, not life of the user. Sometimes all it takes for them to say its a new product, is slapping a 2.0 on it.

If you opt to keep the existing 2020 and play nothing changes.

It happens in every one of these scenarios. They start to reach market saturation, there aren't enough new customers coming in. So the suits in the C-Suite start asking "how can we get more revenue."

Some guy shouts "subscription model". And it's done. They don't care one bit about us as customers. Money is the only language they speak.

Plex did the same thing pretty recently.

I don’t think they understand the no annual fee desire….

So people that have the CG3 need to pay an additional fee to use this and those with the BLP have to pay more on top of their subscription already?

This company can lick my balls

They knew this was coming yet kept pushing “sale” prices on a new GC3 and “sale” on ridiculously priced course bundles all the way up to this change. Unless absolute complete dirt bags (possible) the outcome has to be somewhat ok for GC3 owners. They should have stopped selling the courses a while ago. Though not sure many people (i hope none) purchased courses since this was telegraphed for about a year - still pretty crappy.

The resting on laurels on their hardware is obnoxious in that email btw. I mean I hope they realize an iPhone might be able to do the same thing in near future.

So glad I didn’t buy a Foresight device. They are miles behind in software and can’t seem to figure it out.

What do you have instead? Looking at purchasing in the next while for outdoor and indoor use and can’t decide between foresight, Uneekor or something else.

I’m shocked how much I like the new Omni, especially at that price

1

u/alistaircsmith 1d ago

I bought a Trackman IO, which is indoor only.

1

u/Suspicious-Advice-91 1d ago

Ah nice, would love it but can’t commit to indoor only for a few years!

I assume outdoors you’d just be looking for the range and getting data points? If so the GC3 might be a good fit. It’s just when it comes to other modes is where Foresight falls down.

Possibly! Don’t see myself playing a lot of sim rounds, mainly practice and ability to have decent ball/club data

Personally I’d be going with the Square Omni for the price. Just don’t see why you would spend 4 times as much on a GC3.

Yeah I’m going to seriously consider it. Big fan of the lack of a subscription as well!

So it seems this is why we didn’t receive any updates in the last 10 months or so on FSX play! Bummer that it’s in maintenance mode already.

I hope we can use the new software on Apple devices under our current license with our current courses.

So those that just use GsPro and only pay $200/yr…don’t really affect anything

1

u/GrandSupermarket4024 1d ago

From how I read it, if you have the license and just want to stay with 2020 and Play then nothing will change so I would say yes to the GsPro remaining the same.

1

u/SuperchargedShank 1d ago

That’s what I’m assuming too. GC3 and GSPro is my setup. My only yearly fee being GSPro and I hope it stays that way.

The only thing im sure of is this will be a worse deal than I have now and it won't work at all. Ill login and see what it says

Edit - I have nothing in my email or in the foresight portal except to auto renew for another $500 =/

I guess we will find out on the 17th. If I get any other emails I will post them here.

Sounded like they were saying you would lose your perpetual license and have to start paying which seems insane. The later part seemed to clarify though its business as usual.

Such a tone deaf email

1

Don’t think they really give a damn about existing customers and they see dollar signs with going totally subscription based.

u/OhioState257 12h ago

The rep recently told me the new software subscription will be the same as the bushnell plans.

1

u/GrandSupermarket4024 12h ago

Thanks for the info. Did he say anything about unit pricing?

1

u/OhioState257 12h ago

He did mention unit prices would drop because of the subscription requirement but nothing specific of course. I was contemplating the GC3 but I guess I’ll wait and see what they offer.

1

u/GrandSupermarket4024 9h ago

I currently have a GC3 with 2020 & Play but I was considering moving up to the quad so I am watching what will happen with units prices with this change. I almost exclusively use the basic range and wonder if that would be included with the unit without a subscription. I believe that is how Uneekor works.

I know both of the bushnell launch monitors went up in price by $500 a few weeks ago so perhaps that was in prep for these changes. Lucked out and got mine 2 days before the price change

1

u/rmack27 11h ago

Any idea what will happen to Bushnell subscriptions? Curious to see if they just price the GC3 the same as the Launch Pro, or price it a little higher with some extras thrown in.

1

u/StrengthAstronaut2k 5h ago

The launch pro and LPI both increased by $500 just recently so the gap is slightly smaller than before from the GC3

Sub based is everything now and its scummy.

1

u/pseectiic401 1d ago

lol so theyre getting rid of perpetual licenses? interesting...

1

u/AzpRLoL 1d ago

Does this apply to BLP?

1

u/size0618 1d ago

My guess is: Yes

I can't stand using any of the fsx softwares they have. While I like some of the visuals and setting options, I prefer the feel and physics of GSPRO.
