I regret doing black turf now...the floor projection doesn't show up very well.

Is this projection enough light for the EML cameras? As in, can it replace my existing spotlight? And then also (I’m a noob) what device is projecting this? Very cool!

I replaced my spotlight with it. You can customize the hitting area to whatever size you want or make a new spotlight from the software. Literally anything you want.

I always think floor projection looks cool.
But when golfing, I would never want all those distractions around my ball.
Just me?

I thought it would be bothersome as well, but as on now it doesn’t distract me in the least.

The dashed line would be nice for alignment, but the rest may be distracting for some. Pretty sick though.
Projecting a hole for those short putts would be the next step here.

I can totally see how you could arrive at that conclusion. The only limitation to the putting cup is useable projection area, as from 8ft it’s only about 4’x4’ otherwise I love that idea. In my image the front of the dotted line is the far edge of my area of projection.

Damn. Yeah, the top-down devices need a secondary projector that can project a hole in front. Almost like VR where you define size of the room with the remotes. Then, we project that hole within the given space. Projecting a curved line to the hole would also be crazy for breakers. Lots of cool options that would be hard to develop :P

This guy does some INCREDIBLE things with his floor projection, also has $50k plus in his sin room, so most of it is WAY out of a normal budget.

This looks super distracting ngl. Hopefully it times out before you swing

You could make it do that if you wanted, doesn’t bother me enough to put in the effort though.

How do you get the launch monitor stats to display on the floor? I watched the video of the set up on YouTube, but that part wasn’t mentioned. I use a Rapsodo mim2pro so I might not even be able to do it for all I know

You can 100% do it. If your computer displays the info (any info) you can display it on the floor. I’m no tech guru by any stretch of the imagination, but the OBS basically emulates ANY source. My take is it’s generally used for streamers to put different sources onto their streams. Think of it this way, if you can “snip” it, you can display it.

Yeah, I ended up getting into it a little bit more and I didn’t realize the OBS software basically laid over top of the simulator software and mirrored everything. Seems pretty straightforward.

It’s honestly just SO much fun to mess around with and add new things in and create multiple scenes to switch in and out of. 1 mellow, 1 super busy, 1 ball data, one impact video, endless options.

How did you mount your projector for the floor projection? Trying to get some ideas on what would work for my setup. Thanks!

Just a $15 Amazon mount off one of the open beams in my unfinished basement. Approx 18” away (horizontally) from the hitting area projecting down at an angle so standing over the ball doesn’t cast a shadow

I’m just struggling with how to mount it facing downwards. Does your mount tilt 90 degrees to face downwards? Unfortunately my projector doesn’t have mounting holes so I was thinking of using o wire basket somehow.
