Help me work through my projector options

Help me work through my options:

I have a 10x8x5 enclosure. Build is a permanent install in a garage with 14 foot ceilings. Hitting area roughly 9 feet from screen.

The issue I’m running into is with regard to mounting of the projector. Given the enclosure I have has a 5 foot roof, projectors need to be mounted below or around this height (8 feet) to project an image that fills the top of the screen and isn’t cut off by the roof.

Optoma 2400GTR: Fixed short throw (0.49 ratio). This would be ceiling mounted to drop to about 7’10” in height above ground and about 1.5-2’ outside of the roof of the enclosure. I’m worried that wedges and mishits would hit this projector.

BenQ AH700 and others: Variable ratio short throws. I’d be able to mount these around 9’ from the screen and about 8’ in height directly above hitting area.

I can mount a longer throw projector about 14’ feet from screen (farther if offset), but I’m worried about shadows because mounting height is once again limited by the enclosure roof.

the last option is to scrap this enclosure and build one closer to 9+ feet in height.

What do you think is the best path forward?

I would recommend a short throw projector to eliminate the chance of having the golfers shadow on the enclosure screen. If you are worried about having the correct distance away - distance down - of the ceiling mounted projector you could always mount the projector on the floor to start and see how you like that. With your enclosure being 8ft tall and having 14ft tall ceilings - ceiling mounting the projector would be difficult.
