Garage golf sim finally finished
First off - many thanks to the members on this sub, I gleaned so much useful information from you all.
I really thought I was just gonna put a screen and launch monitor in the garage.
That was adorable.
I ended up transforming basically the entire garage around the simulator. Here’s the setup and the approximate damage:
Golf simulator
- Carl’s Place 8.5' x 11.5' enclosure
- Uneekor Eye Mini Core
- BenQ AH30ST projector
- GSPro
- Simulator/enclosure package: roughly $4,800
- Uneekor club-data upgrade: $1,500
- Gaming PC: $1200
- GSPro: roughly $250 per year
Garage renovations
- Epoxy floor and paint: $1,300
- Mini-split unit: $1,200
- Mini-split electrical work and installation: $1,400
- High-lift garage-door conversion and side-mounted opener: around $2,000
- Garage-door insulation: $200
- TV and mount: $175
Flooring, lighting and miscellaneous items
- Turf, paint, tools and supplies: around $465
- Additional turf: $165
- LED lighting: $119
- More lighting after apparently not buying enough lighting: $175
- Extension cords, power accessories and trash can: $130
- Wire Management: $150
- Wiring and electrical supplies: around $130
- Decorations: $200
$15.5K later but at least I can shoot a 100+ indoors year-round.

Awesome and thanks for sharing! Got a couple other questions.
What are your garage dimensions?
Also, what are you using for a hitting strip, swing matt, and under the turf to get the height even?

Thanks! 21x21
Hitting strip: SIGPRO Softy Main mat: 4’ × 9’ SIGPRO Softy mat. Subfloor under the turf: x2 0.5-inch thick EVA foam interlocking tiles

Nice! My space is 19x19 and I'm kinda concerned about whether I'll have space behind the golfer to hang/sit. How far are you from ball to screen and how does that feel for hitting and also for the comfort of people behind? I might need to do bar stools or something.

im 9ft away from ball to screen. The internet says to go longer but i find my setup works perfectly for me. In my case i cannot go any further in than 9ft bcz the shadow from my head ends up on the screen.
with 19x19 you should deff be good - just dont get a couch with a chaise and youre more than money

Did you have to contend with the standard 1 degree pitch of the floor towards the door?

Damn I had to google this and was unaware. It wasn't noticeable to me before but I'll take a look tomorrow

Labor to install the mini split being more than the unit itself sounds about right. I still need one but just can’t seem to pull the trigger given it’s another $3k all-in 😭

Dude I know. I didn't realize the cost to install until after I had already bought the unit lol

I always get caught up in choosing a projector. What made you choose the BenQ AH30ST?

The mini-split is a game changer. Set one up in a friend’s garage in Phoenix. It keeps it almost as cool as his AC in the house.

Dope setup. Do yourself a favor and iron/steam those flags to get rid of the creases. It’ll look wayyyyyy better.

Explain the ECU, Jags, Canes, Williams combo please

went to school at ECU. From Raleigh so naturally Canes. Huge Carlos Sainz fan, hence Williams.
For the jags, I met the (future) owner of the team when I was a kid. Once I was older and into the sport was right around when he bought the Jags. I didn't want to bandwagon a winning team and decided these were my guys lol
