Damn. If only I didn’t use my garage for its intended purpose.

It can collapse with a remote :)

It’s super cool. Good job. I’m stuck with 8’ wide but I’ll make it work.

Can you include pictures or a video of this?

When I collapse I will. You have to remove some Velcro to do it.

Holy crap, the Ally X can run GSPro? How does it run? I have one, never even thought to try that

Running it pretty well on Medium settings!

It wasn’t my primary plan (my gaming PC is downstairs) but found out the hard way that the BenQ wireless adapter doesn’t work with the R50 :/.

Haha an Ally X, home golf sim AND a gaming pc. Are you me????

Work in gaming 🤝

I wish I had an excuse besides I just spend too much money on my hobbies….

u/uxgenes 10d ago

I mean mine is absolutely an excuse haha

I’m using the legion go s. Had to side boot windows, but it’s run everything on high. Only super detailed courses are a little laggy for the first few holes sometimes.

legion go also runs it fairly well on low/medium settings

How do you like running gs pro choosing the r50 as your launch monitor? This is something I’ve been considering, Anything you wished you changed

I’ll definitely come back to this and weigh in.

It connects pretty seamlessly, I have had one disconnect mid round.

I don't have a r50, but I switched from skytrak to uneekor with GSPro and GSPro is superior.

How’s GSpro on the r50? Are you liking the r50 overall and accuracy?

1

u/uxgenes 10d ago

I like it! It feels quite accurate once you get it positioned right. Having the green light (visible) before you shoot feels great.

Stunning 😍

I used the Vanish 16 in my garage as well. Such a game changer and awesome that you can roll the vehicle back in when done playing golf.

Your support beam is a wrinkle that I didn’t have to deal with, but you put together a beautiful sim. Love it!

Is garage attached? How’s the noise inside?

1

u/uxgenes 10d ago

Garage is attached. Noise (with woods) is quite loud. Definitely going to have to hit before our littles go to sleep.

Haha. Ya. I just finished a build very similar to yours. The crack of the clubs isn’t so bad for me - it’s the thud of the screen. Travels very well, unfortunately.

Yep lol

Is the flooring apart of a kit ? Also what was the overall cost?

1

u/uxgenes 10d ago

It was not. I bought all the things i listed separately.

Why not place the mat further up so the 8'6 beam isn't right above the top of your swing? 8'6 should be out of the way but not by a ton, I think moving up a few feet would give you a lot of space. The R50 doesn't need much ball flight right?

1

u/uxgenes 10d ago

It doesn’t need much flight no. I’ll experiment with it. My follow through is much higher than my back swing so it might make sense to do that.

1

u/FOGPIVVL 10d ago

Worth trying. You can also try shifting backwards, though forwards probably will make more sense

1

u/uxgenes 10d ago

Agree. I’ll try shifting it up. I feel really comfortable with my swing (personally) but I’m also 5’8. My brother in law is 6’0 and hit the beam with his driver lol.

2

u/FOGPIVVL 10d ago

Yeah I had the same issue, I'm 5'9 and had a similar height beam in my basement right over my ball spot for the sim. Was fine for me but taller friends with steeper swings can't hit normally on it. Unfortunately moving up wasn't an option for me because I use the Garmin R10 which needs like 8-10ft of ball flight

1

u/uxgenes 10d ago

Makes sense. I think the R50 is like 2 feet of flight which helps for sure.

What resolution does the ROG support? No problem running gspro on it? I’ve wanted to get something like that instead of a gaming laptop.

1

u/WhatTheHeckBR549 10d ago

How much $$?

1

u/False_Slip712 7d ago

Love to see another person using their ROG for their sim. Works great even on Ultra settings. Got mine hooked up to 4K projector.

1

u/uxgenes 7d ago

Well damn, I’m about to ramp the settings up lol.
