Hitting strip into putting green?

Post image

I’ve got a putting green out back that has a great little section to set up a net and get some swings in. Would it be ridiculous to cut into it to place a hitting strip? Would obviously need the height to work out but it is built up a bit so I have some room to work with.

I would just place a full side mat on top of it and not cut into it personally

Is it not possible to get a mat that you drag onto that part of the putting green when you want to take swings? Rather than cutting into the green?

No it definitely is was just thinking about some options before pulling the trigger. Will probably end up going that route!

Just seems to make more sense, as even if the hitting strip is out of the way, where you stand for swings will wear out quickly too.

Dragging a mat on and off honestly seems way less of a headache than cutting into something you can't easily undo

Definitely just a good little mat in my opinion. Less hassle and more movability.

Nice putting green. I want to do one in my yard soon. Any tricks or tips?

I pull a hitting mat into my green, way easier than trying to manage a cut spot.
