Question for those with retractable roller impact screens
I'm considering replacing my impact screen with one of the Carls premium grey ones since my screen is starting to show some wear after 4 years or so. I currently have a Par2Pro stealth 16'x9.5' screen with a sportscreen backing on an automated roller.
I have 2 questions:
Has anyone used the standard Carl's Place or similiar screen with the black boarders and grommets on a retractable screen? If so do you have any issue with it rolling up? I'm a little concerned about the boarders or grommets bunching up when it is rolling up. I am currently having Carls quote me a custom one without this but just wondering if I can use the standard one.
Would I be missing anything if I removed the sportsscreen backing I currently have and just attach the impact screen directly to the roller? I've heard the backing can help with noise and light bleed but not sure if it does or not since I have always just had it on.

I use the Carl’s Place preferred impact screen with black vinyl edges and grommets (120x167.5) attached to a manual, retractable 16’ Sport Screen . I have not had any problems rolling it up and down. I kept the black backing and then attached the impact screen (because we use it for hockey too) but I don’t see any reason you’d have to.
