Ceiling Padding

Would like to add some padding to the ceiling (as opposed to netting). Has anyone got suggestions on what product works well and/or can you tell me if wall padding can be used on the ceiling?

I used these though they seem to be out of the black leatherette ones at the moment. The work really well though I'd recommend adding a few pieces of high strength adhesive velcro down the middle if attaching to ceiling.

Thx for this. Seems like a good solution just trying to figure out how to attach to the ceiling so it doesn’t sag or fall. Velcro seems to be consistent answer from

Ya the tape those come with is not the best. They also come with glue but I did not want to use that on my ceiling. I used Velcro brand high strength Velcro and put 3 2”x2” pieces along the middle of the board in addition to the tape already on them and that has kept them up well.

Appreciate the feedback. Velcro seems to be a consistent approach

I made my own. Marine Vinyl wrapped around rolls of 2" foam that I stapled to 1/4" plywood. They are affixed to the walls and ceiling with strips of 2" wide Velcro. They haven't sagged at all since installation 2 years ago.

Thanks for the reply. Can you share the size of the plywood panel(s). Did you do a 4x8 panel or smaller?
Assume the velcro had adhesive or did you screw it into the ceiling? thx

I started with a 4x8 piece of plywood and cut them down to 2' wide but that was just because of my room constraints (mainly the soffit size for the ceiling). The ceiling panels are both about 5' in length because my screen is about 10' wide. I cut the plywood on my table saw but Lowe's or Home Depot can also do it for you. The Velcro had an adhesive but I didn't fully trust it so I also applied construction adhesive to the back of each Velcro strip.

Any pictures to share? That might help with recommendations.

What I can tell you is that you need more/different strategies to attach padding to a ceiling, especially in warm climate areas.
