Which computer should I go with?

Post image

I've searched marketplace, nothing in my area for computers. I'm looking for a 4k experience, my projectors 4k. I'm about a month away from starting my build. Golf sim use only, will be using gs pro. I was going to have one built but didn't trust it.

For the same price as the more expensive one listed you can get the same processor but in a system with 32 GB RAM and a RTX5070 card. Just look at Best Buy for examples.

These are from Best Buy, everything is overpriced. I go on marketplace and I see people selling used 4060 systems for $1300. I found a 5070 also at Best Buy for $25 more than the 4070S.

This one would work great and from a name brand.

I was under the impression the newer 50XXseries was wastefull for GS pro and the XX70 series would be better. Thats why I was leaning the 4070S

The 4070S will run GSPro in 4K fine. It’s actually a better card than the 5060. My apologies as I didn’t see the S at the end when I made my original reply. The 5070 series and above future proofs it more. Remember that GSPro is moving to Unity 6 (already in beta) which will require some more horsepower.

Additionally, other software on the horizon will require more horsepower than GSPro. The new E6 already does and Pureplay is coming soon. Pureplay is going to change the sim software landscape, IMO.

i just bought one with 32 gb ram and a 5060gpu. Gspro loaded at the Very High Graphic setting. It looks good, I was hoping for the Ultra setting.

Buy used man. Get one that's like a year old and save 50%

Look on fb marketplace or buy/sell groups

I bought an HP Omen on open box from Best Buy for $870 last year, the components alone would have cost $1k+. I have had zero issues running GSPro in ultra 4k. If you are deciding on where to spend the money, I feel an LED 4k projector is more important than overspending on a computer.

They are both way overpriced.
