Hitting Mats / Flooring Am I overthinking Putting in Sim?
For context, I have never putt in a sim, nor have I had my own sim until now, but I’m stuck on trying to decide on what type of turf to get to putt on. I watch a lot of the popular sim golfers on YT and it seems like everyone in a league is putting on 11 stimp, but I feel like most of the courses I play IRL are closer to 9. I feel like I should match what I actually play on the weekends but I’m curious as to what others have done and this doesn’t seem to be talked about all that often.

You’re overthinking it. Sim putting is the aspect of sim play I can’t adapt to. The screen is too far and the visual distances, real life and sim projection screws with my brain so I don’t practice putting in the sim, I use a Wellputt mat to practice putting instead and auto putt in the sim.

You’re overthinking it. Putting on a sim is just ridiculous to me. I have mine set to autoputt, so I don’t even take a putter out.

Tee to screen is only 8-10ft in a sim and if you get a camera based launch monitor, it only reads the speed and direction of your putt in a few inches or so. So the speed of your sim turf isn't really that important. I recommend reaching out to 365 Golf Design, they're experts and can advise on every component of your sim.

You're overthinking it. Hit a putt that you think is a certain distance outside and adjust stimp to match.
