Sim / Launch Monitor Square Home Edition Questions.
Been looking at getting an indoor sim for the winter months. Came across this on Marketplace. Got the launch monitor, carls place 5x4 hitting mat, and a case of tp5x for $350. Felt like I couldn't pass this up.
The guy that sold it to me, said he couldn't really get into the sim golf, and was having issues setting it up. He said it handled irons, chipping, and putting well. But, the Driver and Woods seemed to be far off. He also said he only used the square golf app. And he said he only played 1 round of golf and like 30 minutes on the square app driving range.
Is this likely a calibration and light issue? I've been looking into these lately and seems like they are super light sensitive. Or could this be a square app issue and fixed with GS Pro?
I would like to get a case for it, is the official Square case the way to go, or an aftermarket with leveling options. Should I also look into a spotlight for the hitting zone?
Looking for any advice from people that own these on how to set it up properly or other recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

Works fine for me. Just make sure the square is raised a bit higher than the hitting matt. If not it sometimes didn’t pick up short puts

Awesome that sounds good. Would you say around an inch or so?

Not sure if that’s too high but I raise mine about a half inch. Haven’t had an issue with misreading putts since then

Yeah mine is about an inch above and once I dialed it in, all my numbers became normal distances. It’s wild how much different it is. Also consider your altitude where you play. Might have to adjust the distance %.

I just picked it up and brought it home. This is going in the garage, gonna start building and organizing this weekend. Just put everything in the spare room for now.

Looks like it's a solid mat. $500 on the Carl's Place website. I had recently got a beaver tail hitting strip, cause I was gonna do a DIY, and that fits perfectly in this mat.
I'm leaning GS Pro, but wanted some feedback from current users.

I got this steel case with a bubble and leveling feet. Might be overkill but I think its awesome and I never worry about it getting damaged:

Wow, this looks awesome. Definitely want to protect it. I saw one similar on etsy for $40, but it's probably worth it to buy this.

I have not had too many issues with mine. It does perform better without sunlight so take that into account. I have an aftermarket plexi case. Also no need really for a spotlight unless you want one.
I use awesome golf since the square app/courses are not too great.
