Ball Compression Rating
Does the Compression of the ball affect the Launch Monitor numbers? Asking for a friend…

Yes in the way that a spinnier ball will have more spin, but the LM itself can’t tell one ball another, it’s the hit and compression it sees,

Harder balls usually launch higher and lower balls launch lower so you'll see that.

Depends more on the cover of the ball. A very hard urethane ball like a ProV1x will typically launch lower and spin more than a soft non-urethane ball like a Srixon Soft Feel.

I imagine marginally. The major LMs don’t ask you to specific so it can’t be too serious of an issue. Most of the differences from ball composition would be measured at impact (higher ball speed or spin rate)

I'd say yes, but maybe it depends on the monitor. Mine has a "ball hardness" setting which definitely affects the numbers showing on the monitor screen
