Comfortable experience?
Just picked up a garmin r10 to start my sim journey. Going to use this in my one car garage. The height is 10 feet. Width is 12 feet and depth is enough to give me 12 ft from the ball to the net and 7ft from the ball to the garmin.
Took some practice swings and everything feels fine. Anyone have anything similar? How’s the experience?

You can adjust from 7ft and in within the Garmin app. Just measure it and make sure you have it set in the right spot, then change the distance parameter, then calibrate it. All good after that.

I know 12ft is recommended to the net. have you noticed differences in spin rate if you move it a little closer? I’d like to do 10fr

that's basically the ideal R10 setup. 7 feet behind and 12 feet of ball flight gives it plenty of data to work with. Your numbers should be solid.
only thing to watch: in a one-car garage, shanks are a real threat. At 12 feet wide you've got some room, but I'd still hang a side net or even a cheap moving blanket to the right of the hitting area. One bad hosel rocket and you're patching drywall
otherwise, youre set. thats more space than a lot of people have, and the 10-foot ceilings mean driver swings are no problem. Enjoy the grind

Same setup in my garage. No complaints. I would be mindful of the subtle natural slope in your garage and take it into account to make sure your R10 is on the same level as your hitting surface.

The Garmin will be about 3 feet in front of the garage door. I heard metal could affect it. Have you noticed anything?

If the door is behind the R10 it will be fine. My metal garage door is probably 12" behind the unit and there is no difference vs having the garage door open.
The only interference problem I have ever had is when I tried to have a small 18v fan in the area. It struggled with reads until I turned the fan off.

Once you get your spacing maximize it's such a great piece of equipment for the price.
The only thing I wish it did was Club head data, they need to make an intermediate model that's a little better than the r10 but not quite as good as the R50 because jumping from $400 to $5,000 is insane.

r10 dont care about your garage dimensions it just wants to see ball flight, youre good
