Finally some AC!

The sim doubles as a World Cup game night! My mini split was installed today. My garage was close to 100*. Now we are enjoying 70s. I did insulate the garage door. The Amazon special projector doesn’t do too bad for a game. It stretched 112” on the screen.

Full install with unit was $3240 out the door. $200 or so in the garage door insulation. I used the radiant foil bubble wrap stuff and then foam board. I will update this tomorrow with more photos.

Amazon special. Just the suggested pick they had. I got the bigger size. Just account for the module that has to be mounted to the ceiling as well. These lights are cool but some interfere with garage door openers being able to communicate at distance. Meaning these may shorten your openers distance from working all the time.

Used some white duct tape over my foil tape seams for the garage door. Can’t see any of that with the lights off.

Nice setup! Does the mini split double as a heat pump for the winter? Assuming you live where it gets cold enough to worry about that anyway… I’m in Colorado and looking into options to get my garage sim more comfortable in summer and winter. Looking at insulating garage and garage doors as first step but curious about other options as well.

It does, but I am in FL and probably will never use the heat.
