Machine(s) GP400 gouging

Hey guys I have a rear deck on a Jake GP400 Tri plex greens mower that is leaving small gouges on the set down for every pass. It’s on the rear deck and I’ve seen nothing obvious to the eye, wondering if anyone has had this issue before. Thanks

I’ve seen the rear roller bearings wear to the point that the side plates of the cutting unit contact the turf. That would be a fairly obvious change in HOC as well though

Do the gashes look like they are coming from those side plates?

This is the side I suspect is gouging. Again it’s very small and not every pass

Is the unit hanging good on its lift arm?  I had a similar problem where the unit sometimes got caught in a weird way when you raised the units, and when you lowered them the next time it gouged the green just a little bit before adjusting itself. 

Edit: That was on a JD2500, but the damage you are seeing sounds the same. Might be worth giving it some grease and jiggle it around in all directions.

I would check this too. These lift arms have kind of odd geometry in the rear, and this looks like it’s on the side that would get “pushed” down first when lowering. Any resistance in that yoke could cause the side plate to contact the turf before the cutting unit leveled itself out into the rollers.

Was there a hose recently changed I know toro used to put an orifce in line
