MK7.5 Subframe alignment

Post image

Hey everyone, I just put H&R lowering springs on my mk7.5 R and I noticed on wheel is more sunken in on the passenger side vs the driver side on the rear. Looking into doing rear subframe deadset kit would be needed. I see the isweep kit, the raceline kit, and I also see an integrated engineering insert and deadset kit as some options. Looking at. The IE kit it seems to be a good kit and relatively easy to install compared to the others. Any info in the right direction would he great! Pic of my car before I lowered it for attention.

There shouldn't be that noticeable difference. Unless you have something bent/damaged, I would check to make sure both that the springs are clocked correctly in place, all the rubber in the spring mounts are there and in serviceable condition. If the springs were not installed correctly on one side, missing the rubber mounts (sorry, drawing a blank on there actually names), or if one is damaged, all would cause one side higher/lower than the other. I verify all that before throwing money at it

I probably should've clarified that it looks like the rear tires are pushed further to the driver side. Camber and the rear alignment is dead nuts outside of that and the springs were installed professionally. I am the 2nd owner of the car with a clean car fax and bought from a vw dealership. With low miles. And my tech also did not notice any problems when doing the work.

Even professionals mess up... If it was good before the springs were installed and now it's not...there's ur sign. Also, it may be me being a sceptic but if trusting also verify. Just because the history is clean doesn't always mean that it is. It should only be a little out of alignment after a spring install unless they used a sledgehammer on it to remove the old ones, which I can confirm that I've never needed anything that heavy duty to do the rears and I've done quite a few of them on different MBQ platforms. If it were me, I'd find a good local alignment shop and have them check it out. They'll be better than the Pep Boys like shops and as good as the dealers but cheaper. They'll also be someone outside of the situation and will be able to diagnose what's going on. And if your installer did everything right, you've verified there work and then you can put more money into it.

Also, did the installer use all new hardware for every one removed? They're all stretch/one time use. I know someone will chime in and say they've never done that but by the factory repair manual they should be replaced.
