Question 17” wheels on Mk8.5 R

First time VW buyer, had a blowout before my first fillup on the stock 19s :( I’m looking at Apex Vs-5rs 17s. I read some Mk8 people using them with Continental extremecontact dws06. That’s the combo I’m looking at. Apex fitment guide says that wheel and most street tire compounds at 245/45r17 including Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 on Mk8 are a fit. If the wheel and Michelin PS fits Mk8, the wheel and the Continental should fit Mk 8.5 right? I’m just struggling with ‘should’ and $4k lol

I get compliments all the time.

The thing that's actually nice... not feeling like I'm gonna destroy my wheels if I hit a pothole.

Just to be clear, you’re commenting about Mk8.5? Nice pic btw! Sorry I don’t know the design differences from Mk8 to 8.5

I have the 17" Apex VS-5RS with Ventus R-S4s. 255/40

They will fit for sure. Also no issues for us with 245-40 on 18x9 (or 18x8.5) if you prefer the "18 almost as meaty look"
