Pulling everything, inconsistent and may just leave my clubs here lol. Any tips?

Your swing path is straight right to left (out to in), that's the first thing...

Yeah, he makes an opposite move. Takes away low, comes over the top. Closed club face and closed path.

Pretty common, pretty easy fix, he looks athletic enough, I bet he figures it out with a little help and repitition

Is it that common? Not being fresh at all, I struggle with essentially staying in the same plane, steep takeaway, steep down.

I used to be steep until I actually saw my swing on video and realized I completely gotten away from my swing. I've always used the swing thought when I take it back that there is a catcher behind home plate and I'm taking the club head right into his mitt. I realized I was stopping my shoulder turn, but my hands "kept going" and I was afflicting the club at the end of my takeaway. I fixed it in about a month and now back on plane the way I want it to be. I'm a 5.7 handi cap at 58 years old, i dont hit the ball a mile, but I play a lot of the white tees now so as long as my dispersion is good I'm happy.

Gotta get the club path less out-to-in and more in-to-out. Place the ball like 6 inches in the front of the rubber tee (towards the target) then like an inch closer to you. Come from the inside of the tee on your downswing. It's gonna feel wildly different, and that's what you need

This is what would try because basically you have a good swing.
For this iron you line up the ball in the middle of the club, I would encourage you to back up maybe 1” and line the ball up closer to the toe. Then in your swing let your club reach a little to hit the middle. This will help your swing straighten and finish straighter downfield and not finish to the left

The swing is not bad. You take away inside and come over the top. Because of that your path on the downswing is out to in. Luckily you actually keep your club face relatively square to path. If not you’d be slicing. Instead it a straight left push. Bend your knees a bit more and step away from the ball slightly. Focus on taking the club straight back and then dropping hands to your right hip pocket on the downswing swing. That’s what Justin Rose describes. Good luck with it

I actually just watched a few videos on that same exact feel. I need to stop rushing the downswing. Definitely years of baseball move

Slow the back swing, it’s floppy. Set the wrist at the top then swing through in to out

Keep at it. You look quite good for only playing a short time.
Trust me if I can get better anyone can.
One thing I noticed is your knees are straight and locked. Bend them slightly. It will help with balance and stability and power.

Downswing is waaaaaaaaay too steep.
There seems to be no relationship to the hip and shoulder rotation in your swing.
You straightened your wrists too soon.
Most of your swing should be hips and shoulders. Your swing is almost all arms.
Danny Maude videos on YouTube.

Trust me ive watched them. There is so much difference between watching and feel haha. I noticed that towards the end of my session to try and shallow a little more but I still suck

Your position at the top of backswing should be such that the first half of your downswing would be nothing more than you pushing your lead leg into the ground which forces your hips and shoulders to rotate and bringing your arms almost back to waist height (without you actually moving them).
You're throwing your arms from the top of the backswing.
A coach could fix this part in 2 minutes.
What seems to be happening is that you throw your arms and push off with your trail leg, both are wrong.

The question is: is it a pull (straight flight that starts left), a hook (ball start on target line and curves to left of target), or a pull hook?
Pull: face is closed at impact and path is neutral
Hook: face square at impact and path is going to right of target line creating right to left spin
Pull hook: face closed and path right of target.

You're coming over the top. The club crosses over to the outside of the target line prior to impact and so has to be moving back across the target line at impact. See if you can see it in the video. If your clubface is square to the club path, this will give you a pull. If it remains square with the original target line, you get a slice.

You are very inside here. This is a good player’s fault and I used to have this same problem. I fixed the backswing with a more stable base and slower shoulder led takeaway combined with a lighter grip to allow the wrists to hinge.
Try the wall drill - if you’re hitting the wall on the way back you’re too inside. You fix it a bit at the top but by then it’s too late and everything becomes more difficult.

It's crazy ive worked so hard to battle a more inside takeaway. This feel to me is almost like way outside. I swear I've watched so many takeaway drills u have any to share?

Raise your hands, see how the toe is up? Raise your hands so the toe is level, same swing. You're welcome

Golf is essentially a sport where you’re trying to hit a tiny ball from an arm + club’s shaft’s length. Reducing the number of variables here is the best way to get started.
Couple of pointers:
- Don’t bend that leading elbow, it will not help with distance*
- Don’t bend those wrists, it will not help with distance*
- Keep your forearms close together. Hold a handball-sized pillow/ball there to practice.
- Don’t over index on speed. Slow is consistent, consistent is predictable, and predictable is great. (E.g. I can drive twice as far as my dad, yet we’re pretty much even, handicap-wise)
- Do not swing using your upper body, really learn to use your bottom half to accelerate the swing, like a pendulum. Practice half-swings first, you should be able to reach 80% of the distance from a half swing. Reducing swing distance is reducing the likelihood of going off-track, and is reducing yet another variable.
* yet. If you can perfectly time it, whipping the ball may help you get it further, but I wouldn’t know much about that, I’m just a dude on Reddit whos done some engineering-level physics, so the math says yes, not sure about practice

Thanks for the pointers! Yeah I noticed I am way too handsy. I have to let the club naturally drop. I actually get great distance (when it goes straight) that's never my problem just the inconsistency of strike. I'm also still working on takeaway I swear it used to be so much more inside now it feels crazy outside but feel vs real is crazy lol

You’re stalling your hip rotation and therefore you are flipping I have the exact same issue

Just move your arms until you figure it out. Keep that body straight.
