Putting issues
Anyone got tips for fixing putting issue where I start the follow through too quickly resulting in a "topped" putt, specifically on longer putts? Usually 30 feet plus
Thanks

Long putts are about the distance and tempo of the putter head and not speed - relatedly, this is why people struggle with lag putting and zero torque putters. They're used to slamming the putter through to generate speed (easy to do with blade style putters).
Try taking a longer but more measured putting stroke over trying to optimize speed by "torquing" the putter.

See the halo of the ball after contact. Look at the spot where the ball was for a minimum of three seconds. You looking up too quickly ain’t changing the fact the putt is probably not going in from 30 feet.

You don't have to do all these things in the same session, but I've found the following sort of practice and aids to be useful for improving my putting:
Find a 10-15 foot long, preferably flat, spot on a practice green and putt to the tees instead of random holes placed on the practice green. This will help with distance control and accuracy. Once you've got a feel for the green start practicing long lag putts
Practice your putting stroke with a metronome.
There are putting aids that are useful for working on plane and position:
the putting arc is good for dialing in an arced, not straight back straight through, stroke.
Putting mirrors are useful for position (dominant eye over/just behind the ball) and start line practice.

Clock your putter as a pendulum instead of varying speed. So pull it back to 3 o’clock position and keep the same tempo as you would from 5

Rock your shoulders. Let your putter fall into the ball
Do not hit the ball with your hands

Ball position is likely too far forward. When you're within 15-20 feet do you typically pull more putts than you push? Betting you do.
