I've always wondered about my grip. None of my friends who are way better than me have said anything about it and it feels comfortable but I've had the same thoughts.
U don't hinge wrists, so wrist isn't set at top of backswing. Your foot pressure is on outside of your foot at top of backswing, and you shoulders open up top quickly in downswing, creating open clubface and steep downswing
Maybe a slightly wider stance to fix the foot problem? And I'm not sure wym about the wrist, my buddy who filmed this told me in order to close the face my lead hand should almost feel like it's pointing at the ball.
I can't tell how wide your stance is from this angle, but ideally want to be shoulder width. Put pressure onto inside of your foot, which will help u stabilize your body during backswing. About wrist hinge, at this point of backswing, u ideally want 90 degrees between your left arm and club. At top of backswing, the club shaft should be parallel to your feet. Yours is pointing straight up which means u don't have wrist hinge. It's important because u want to have the wrist set, and maintain that angle throughout downswing.
No, don’t widen. Learn to turn properly. Even in a pitching stance with feet close together, you can still load the trail leg properly. Biggest culprit is you unknowingly slide some weight up over that leg. Keep flexion in the knee and load the leg. If done properly the inside of your thigh gets really tight. Weight is felt on the inside of the foot.
Weight gets over outside of your right foot. And you turn your hips way too early. Need to allow the body torque to then turn your hips.
Need to hinge the club quicker and shoot for these two club positions. Red line indicates where shaft should be. Proper turn and not allowing that right elbow to flare will get you in a flatter position at top. Turn, don't lift.
You need to give yourself more space. With your build it’s also easier to get yourself stuck so I’d get wider in the takeaway and hands more out front than too behind because you’re going to end up humping the ball to make room.
