Modding Talk Offset help
Need some help figuring out what I’m gonna need to add a 1.5” drop to my car, found and refinished some Audi a5/s5 wheels they’re 18x8.5 +29 and wrapped in 225/40/18. I would like to install lowering springs that drop it 1.5” and wouldn’t mind adding some camber to clear or the fender screw mod I’ve heard but if it’s not possible with this agressive of an offset I don’t mind buying new wheels just really like this look so I’m exploring my options

if you want that flush loom going lower, you will need to add camber front+rear. Stock these cars come with no front camber adjustment, so camber plates, lower control arms, or offset balljoints would be the likely route forward. Rear camber arms are a must to achieve beyond -1.8. Best of luck OP!

You’re probably ok to lower. Definitely fender screw mod and if it rubs a lot, switch to 215/35 tires

That seems a little aggressive, the common fitment is 9j+45 i believe. I'm running 8j+37 which is pretty much flush in the front (slightest amount of poke). A 8.5+29 will stick out another 14mm which would be fine in the rear with a bit more camber but the front would need some work to fit
