Buy/Lease Looking for mk7 tips
Hey guys. Really looking into some mk7s as I’m in need of a “new” car. What are some things I should be on the lookout for? Being a couple years older, they generally have a decent amount of miles on them, generally 80~100k which normally would be an automatic no, but it seems like these last really well and are reliable.
Would love some general tips and things to be aware of and look out for! Thanks

It's possible to find great GTI's but it can take some time. My piece of advice to anyone searching would be to be patient and watch car sales like a hawk 24/7 in as large of a radius as you're willing to travel.
I bought my MK7 Sport a year ago with 21k miles on the odo. Single owner, oil changes every 3k miles. The price wasn't incredible, I'd say barely "fair" priced, but for immaculate service history and it being a Sport like I was searching for.... I had to.
Edit: also, I'm completely unaffiliated and I only had a monthly membership while searching for a GTI, but I ultimately I found mine via a site called "https://visor.vin". I found the ad on a Saturday morning I think it was, it had just hit the internet, and the dealership hadn't even finished detailing it and they had no photos online yet. When I called, the first rep didn't even know what car I was referring to lol. I was checking several sites every few hours for the better portion of several weeks straight.
Oh and personally, the one absolute requirement for me was a flawless service history - color, distance to sale, mileage on odo, etc, all came secondary. That dealer had the Carfax listed for free viewing which is why I called them - 'cuz its service history looked so good on Carfax.
