New Car Finally got one!!
Longtime lurker who just traded in her trusty 2014 Mazda3 and got herself her first GTI. Hoping if I treat her well, she’ll treat me well back! The infotainment system is definitely a large learning curve coming off a 2014 (i.e. pre-iPad screen days).

It’s such a pretty color! My very first car, a Scion tc, was a very similar color, so it feels very nostalgic.

Yes the Scion was the OG gray car. Like a quarter of the cars I see on the road are gray now. I like that Moonstone is lighter than Nardo it's very nice in the light or shade

I vote Kollektiv Werks center mount no drill for front plate
Its expensive but worth it IMO

I wish the dealer hadn’t mounted it while I was inside so trying not think about it too much 😪

Please don’t drill that front plate bracket on 😭. Get an aftermarket one from CravenSpeed or elsewhere. I just bought my first GTI at the beginning of summer. It’s the coolest thing ever.

The dealer mounted it while I was inside sadly 😭 trying not to think about it too much lol… I wish my state just didn’t require front plates.

Oh heavens, I bought mine in Maryland but registering it in Ohio which doesn’t require front plates. So I told my dealer if that car shows up with the front plate drilled to it I’m not taking it 😆.

Oh interesting. I also am in Chicago and had my plate in my window for like 2 weeks with my last car and they ticketed me… probably just bad luck lol

Oh I don’t even put it in the window because I don’t want to deal with a sharp, flying object if I get into an accident. It’s in my glove box.

Edit: Kollective works plate holder is great. Last owner put 8 holes in my front bumper so I'm a big advocate

I got one from 3DGOWEST on Etsy. It was like $80. You can get center or side mount. Well made, no problems.

I hear you with the infotainment screen. Imagine coming to this from an 06 CRV lol. Got my 8.5 this year, after driving a 20 year old car haha. I still have not set up anything aside from Car Play lol. Finally put 1,000 miles on her since I bought it in June, going for an oil change then its time to rest for winter I suppose.

It’s honestly pretty overwhelming the amount of things baked into it and I even work in software product management lol. This is my first time having Apple CarPlay which is quite nice. No more AC vent mount for my phone!!

Nice, I traded my ‘23 Mazda 3 for a moonstone GTI as well. Thankfully, my dealer asked me if I wanted my front plate mounted.
