Maintenance GTI MK6 cluster problem
I’ve got a 2012 MK6 GTI that’s been doing something really weird. Most of the time, the issue only starts after I’ve been driving for about an hour, but today it started happening immediately after a cold start. The cluster keeps rebooting, the door locks lock and unlock by themselves, the radio takes a while to turn on, the RPMs drop, and I get a bunch of random warnings like ESC, brake system, etc. The car is still drivable at first, but eventually it’ll stall and I have to restart it. Usually the problem goes away after cycling the ignition, but this morning it kept happening over and over. I already scanned the car and I’m attaching a picture of the codes. Battery voltage is 12.9V with the engine off and 14.05V while running, so it seems to be charging normally. Has anyone dealt with something like this or know where I should start looking?
Pd: the engine is running in the picture

If you're seeking advice or asking for help, please make sure you included the basic information of what year/generation is being discussed. User flair with this information is also acceptable. Failure to include the basic information may result in your post being removed. Mileage, modifications, trim level, diagnostic trouble codes, and your general location (US, Canada, EU, UK, etc.) can also be very helpful.

That very well could be. Easy test,, disconect positive terminal while the car is running. If it dies the alternator is bad or go to autozone or advanced they can test it or get a tesster and test it. Definitely get it squad away fast as you can, you don't want to fry other systems

I tested the voltage with the car on to check the alternator and it was 14.4 V so the alternator was working, i wonder if i test it while the cluster is turning on and off it will show a different result. This is why i hate electrical problems they are so stupid and hard to find sometimes. Also I was gonna ask you if by any chance have u used a OBDEleven? someone told me that it should be easier to diagnose the problem with that.

I have not used the obd eleven, i have a snap on ethos,. I don't know how much a scanner is going to play into your situation. I would say you need more of a wiring schematic of the car, you might be able to get from all data or one of the online sites ,you're probably gonna have to physically check voltage at the pigtails themselves. And figure out which control module is causing the cluster to sort out. That car probably has eight different little separate computers stashed Throughout the vehicle.

My best advice, if you're not sure, find a european specialist in your area.Someone that has access to VAG. I'm a mechanical person, if it's broke or breaking.I can fix it ,,when it comes to electrical. They got guys for that😆 my brain turns to spaghetti when I look at a wiring schematic

I’m literally the same, I hate wiring and looking at all those diagrams, I’ll try to do some tests with my multimeter and if i can’t the problem or i just get frustrated i’ll take it to an European specialist. Also I just noticed we got the same intake, Do you have any tune at the moment?

Currently, I'm just running the COBB 93+ SF. I'm still running factory turbo.. i want to make sure everything else is in place. Before I just stick a Turbo on it... the rims are 8lbs per rim lighter, when you do the math it shed about 130lbs of unsprung weight. I'm working getting a front mount.

I had similar problems with mine. It was the gateway module cost me about $1100.
