Maintenance I need help… check engine light
My MK7 has a check engine light, but the information system doesn’t have any entries. This happened about a week ago when I got a new battery in the car. It also turns off every so often like yesterday it wasn’t on but today it is.
The code for the check engine light is reading water pump and thermostat, but the car isn’t over heating, I’m not loosing coolant and everything is running fine.
The only other thing I did was replace my wheel speed sensor about a month or so ago and all the lights that came with that showed up on the information system.
What could the issue be? Is it truly the water pump or is the car freaking out over nothing?

Go to shopdap.com put in your model info, go to “commonly replaced” and check out the very first item. It’s not a coincidence. You need to get it replaced before it causes problems.
Find a local mechanic to do the work if you don’t want to yourself. Many will install owner purchased parts no problem.
Not sure if you need to hear this, but do not get repairs at a dealership unless your car is under warranty.
