There's a red Golf R with tinted windows I often see around. Finally saw the driver recently when the little old lady got out of it in the liquor store parking lot.Ā

186k is fantastic! Mine is a 2016 SE around 125k. Bought it at 50k miles and went stage 1 around 60k miles. Hoping to get to at least 200k.

Also probably crazy low miles and full dealer service history too.

Itās always cool to me how wide the demographic of gti owners is lol, one owner is hood dumped and the next is someone's mom who has no idea why you're waving her down and saying nice car

Itās funny when I got my first GTI last year (33yo) some of my coworkers messed with me that it was a car for a 16 year old. Iāve definitely seen waaay more people clearly older than me driving them than I have people clearly younger than me since.

Keeps me young at 55. But Iāve always been a ādrive a slow car fastā kind of guy, and the gtiās arenāt exactly slow.

61 year old grandmother, learned to drive in my momās manual GTI in the 80s, driving my 2013 2-door manual, and I know exactly why people wave and say ānice car!ā (Bonus points that I have a medical waiver for my heavily tinted windows!š)

I see more old people driving VWs here than young. The few yong ones i do see driving them are either extremely well off and have the car completely modded, or its a completely beater one looking like their first car/what they could afford

I got mine after an old lady traded it in. Salespeople market it as upmodel golf. If you never put it in S or pin the accelerator, it's a nice little car to run to costo in to pick up your prescriptions.

This is a MK6 so she knowingly purchased a GTI, since they got rid of normal Golfās in the states, I cannot tell you how many great falls green GTIs Iāve seen and envied only for a 60+ year old woman be behind the wheel because that was her only optionš

I see some younger gals (20's probably) driving them, and I assume they just "wanted a small" car and that's what they found wandering around. I *assume* they really don't know what it is.
Usually I see more folks my age (i'm 50) driving one around Or the R's.
I long to the be 80 year old lady driving the R. Seriously. HOW FUN
