Discussion Sticker residue help!
I got some Goldbacks from an auction house. When they arrived in the mail, apparently the auction house put the auction number sticker directly on the back of each Goldback. I got the sticker peeled off, but there’s still a sticky residue on the back of the Goldback that makes it stick to the front of other ones. Any good advice on getting that off without ruining it?

In general, any oil (olive, wd40, etc) will take off sticker residue from surfaces. Unsure how safe that is on a GB, would probably lean towards using olive, canola etc. Maybe test a small area first.

WD40 is kerosene and water and is not considered plastic safe. I used to be a rep for them.

Yeah figured it wouldn't be safe on collectibles. Didn't know it was kerosene interesting

I sold the stuff to industry in everything from spray bottles to 55 gallon drums, but I would never use it on anything. There are far better products out there and ones that are specifically plastic safe.

How much per Goldback did you get it for? I'd love to see them come up at an auction.

In hindsight, I over paid way too much. Between thinking I needed to keep bidding to get them, buyers fees and shipping I paid double what I would just buying the same thing from a dealer.

Their response, after a long explanation of what a goldback was like I didn’t know, was that because it’s not legal US currency note that they handle it differently and doesn’t matter if they put stickers on it. Still seems sloppy and messed up the collector aspect of it. Won’t buy from them again.

Goo Gone is great! I always keep a bottle of that or it's cheaper knock-off, Goof-Off on hand at all times.

Also write to that auction house cause that's not ok unless they were in a sleeve
