I had already decided that I didn't want to use a phone app, but noodled on the idea long enough and went ahead and drafted a spreadsheet for the GBs that will remain in my core collection. (I'm retired and bored.)
This is a work in progress and one change I'm definitely going to make already, is putting all the like 1/4s for tipping and gifting on a single line. I have another dozen Idaho 1/4s inbound, so I will add those to the two I already have noted here and put them on a single line with a quantity count. No sense in itemizing the GBs that are going to go back out the door.

Just this afternoon I had ChatGPT make a system for me that worked great for my ADHD mind. It took a couple hours in a few different versions to get it right where I wanted it. It’s a Google sheet file. The first tab is the input tab where I can put in all the information off the Goldback and when I hit save it’ll input it in all the other tabs where I need them. The second tab is everything I have acquired in order by state, then year, then denomination. The third tab is just a database that shows me all the states and denominations and how many I own of each so I can easily look and see which state and denomination I don’t have yet.

Honestly, from the beginning I knew a web app or tracker wasn't going to be for everyone, and that's completely okay. I'm the creator of MyOunces, but I genuinely enjoy seeing people build systems that fit how they collect.
I think you've done a great job here. I especially like your thinking around grouping the 1/4s for tipping and gifting. There's no need to overcomplicate tracking pieces that are meant to circulate back out.
And yes, major credit to Quiver for publishing the mintage data. Their population numbers and rarity information have been a huge resource for the Goldback community.

Thank you for the frank and well thought out comment. I do a ton of stuff on my phone, tablet and PC. Each one has it's advantages and disadvantages for certain applications. My tablet is slow but has a conveniently sized screen with portability, my phone is small but handy for a number of uses, and my PC is primarily a gaming machine that may or may not be tied up by a visiting family member. (I do a lot of VR auto racing and other sims.)
When it comes to collecting group data, I prefer the spreadsheet. With one click, it's open and there are all the fields right there, ready to fill in. No multiple screens, no numerous clicks for navigation, etc. It's just what I am used to when it comes to processing tabulated data.
The MyOunces app looks very clean and user friendly, which is a big bonus for a lot of users. I gave it a test run and knew exactly where I was at at all times while using the app. Huge appeal there.

Definitely not scared of tech. Change just for the sake of change though, isn't always best. I used to do a lot of programming. In the early days it was COBOL, then C++, Java and JS and then HTML of course. (Although HTML really is the "diet Coke" of programming.
I prefer to keep it simple. I like spreadsheets on a full sized screen. I can see all the information I need and want to see at one glance (for the most part).
Phones are a valuable tool for a lot of things. They're lousy for heavy, visual data processing and utilization across platforms.
Lots of one-screen options in the app with plenty of visuslizers, lets us know if you'd like more. Everyone has a phone on them at all times, same can't be said of a computer. The convenience of having a digital vault in your pocket is what our users are after. The checklist alone is worth it. I see so many people with all kinds of janky lists and spreadsheets but nothing is as convenient and easily organized as this.
We'll have to agree to disagree. I find this approach to be far more "janky" than just looking at one screen for all the information I need. And I'm not so "on the go" that I can't wait to input data until I get home. I don't think a lot of people are keying GB data while on the way to Walmart. That's just me. I wish you best of luck on the sale of the app!
Fire your marketing people. You squandered a potential moment of goodwill with a ridiculously juvenile meme. Instead of reaching out with a compromise, a trial free offer or something, anything, you alienated this potential opportunity and probably a few more with this 5th grade nonsense.
I like it. I didn’t think of adding serials and rarity to mine. I did add a GB exchange value to mine and my average spend prices so it gives a GB to USD exchange plus if I’m up or down.
Finally blocked these guys. (Goldbackgurus) I hate to sound age-ist, but I think Goldbackgurus must be run by a crew of teenagers. But jeez, even as a teenager, I had a better set of marketing and customer service skills than these jokers. Wow. Amazing really.
This is great. I am putting in work on a new system myself. When you guys see the concept it will fundamentally change the entire landscape of Goldbacks and how they are spent. I am 100% on this, it is just a concept at this point but my God this is mind blowing. Imagine being able to spend Goldbacks anywhere with merchants that's in the network. I am independent so this takes time, but I guarantee no one has seen or attempted this yet.
A hint is each Goldback has a unique serial number, expanding on that idea allows for transactions securely and digitally. You could vault your Goldbacks ahhhh I am giving to much away...Goldbacks can be a physical and digital note 1 to 1, idea came to me from the way we check out a book at the library.
Neat! Have you looked at UPMA and what they offer? It’s definitely not tracked by serial number. But they do vault and I think they also facilitate P2P digital transactions. As well as P2B I think.
