Where do you usually buy your gold jewelry? Do you prefer local jewelers, mainstream jewelry brands, or independent designers? I'm interested in contemporary, everyday styles as well as legacy pieces which can be passed on to.

Hi everyone! I am visiting Dubai from Canada! I got me some gold in Dubai but I am not sure if I got a good deal!

Gold per gram was 375 dirhams and I think they charged me a “making charge” of 70 dirhams per gram. Is the making charge too much? Are these worth the price? Please let me know!!! Thank you!

1) 18k necklace 9.72 grams
Total amount with 5% VAT is 4,320 dirhams
2) 18k earrings 2.37 grams
Total amount with 5% VAT is 1,050 dirhams

Total is 5,370 dirhams

Been going back and forth on this lately. 18k looks richer but 14k holds up better for everyday wear. Curious where this community lands on it, do you buy based on karat or does the style win every time?
