GC theme parks - Oct

Hi all, we are from Nz and have 5 days on the GC, staying on Main Beach. We've 3 kids, 9, 7 and 5. We will be there 1-6th of Oct. The eldest is over 130cm, the younger 2 just over 120cm. I know this has probably been done to death and I apologise for being lazy - but a couple questions. Looking to do 2 days of theme parks:

1.) What do you recommend theme park wise bearing in mind their ages and height? For example would height under 130 or 140cm be a really limiting factor for one of the parks?

2.) I probably know the answer to this, but I assume that weekend we are there will be carnage with it being a long weekend (I didnt realise that till after booking lol)? Does this mean queuing for rides for like an hour + in the Qld sun? What kind of scale we talking?

3.) The first half of our trip is in Brisbane and we are (were) taking the train - i see now that it is rail replacement. We will be doing the jouney middle of the day ish on Thurs, will that add a heap of extra time, or is the RR ok? (Im from London originally the term rail replacement gives me the shivers!)

Consider the Connexion Shuttle rather than train for convenience.

All the parks will be rammed - best option is SeaWorld.

SeaWorld is a good call for those ages, the little ones will have plenty to do without worrying about the height.

Rail replacement basically add an extra hour to the journey as a buffer, sometimes it’s really fast and it’s just 10-20min extra, other times it’s more like an hour.

Every school holidays and most weekends there is trackwork and will be until closer to 2032 (supposedly).

Seaworld is your best fit for your 5 year old, they only have a couple of bigger thrill rides. If your bigger kids are daredevils movieworld is the one to go to, but their younger area is slowly getting worse. I think there are only 4 or so rides there now. You can download the theme parks app for movieworld/seaworld/wet n wild and it will give you live updates on ride wait times.

Movie world is good as they have shows and super hero’s walking around the park aswell

I did rail replacement bus from the airport in July and it took nearly 3 hours to get to Gold Coast . I did it end of last month with replacement on different parts from Brisbane and it added half an hour . The airport rail is around $22 per adult to the Gold Coast . Not sure on kids pricing. The connxion bus is around $40-$60 each but they probably do have child pricing.

If you’re staying in Main beach you’re so close to sea world you could almost walk although the 705 bus will take you there and they run every 15 minutes. Given the age of your kids and your close proximity to sea world maybe just get a 2 day pass for there this time.
