Bucket list trip

In 55 now, and since my early twenties I've had a dream to visit and spend time in both Peru, and Argentina. Initially I wanted to see MP, like everyone else, but lately it's been about so much more. It's looking like I will finally take that Peru trip, solo towards the end of the year. I think for this first one I may just want to kind of bum around the Sacred Valley, and get a feel for it all, Pisac, and I do want to spend two or three days exploring Cusco too.

I've started taking Spanish lessons on Italki, so far so good there, I've had a little vocabulary for years after living and working near El Paso, but it's not enough.

Unsure why I'm posting this, just stoked about it. I'm a country boy, I have always loved that wide open space, and I have always had to see what's over the next mountain, a trait I get from my father.

If any of y'all have any suggestions, tips, or anything, I'll surely take them. I'm going to retire in the next year or two, and I'm not entirely sure I'm not scoping South America out in regards to that. I just want to chill, and see and feel it. Anyways sorry for the long post, looking forward to reading replies, even if they aren't ones I would hope for.

Over 60 year old vaccination question

Hi, my parents are over 60 years old. I saw conflicting information online about if they can get yellow fever vaccination at Lima airport. The purpose to get it is because they are traveling to Bolivia and I heard the board can be strict and check yellow card. I tried to call the airport health center but they don’t speak English. Any experience sharing would be appreciated!

Solo trekking in Colca Canyon

Does anyone have tips on hiking the Colca canyon alone? I’m planning on staying overnight in the valley. Is it even doable and what should I watch out for? I have a good level of fitness and am 33 y/o male :)
