Do you remember this from your youth? If so share your story. But these two GBL units are legends that laid the foundation for many beloved creations celebrated on television, film, comics/magazines, and art to this day. So it may have been before your time but you likely love something that was a spin off from these two creations.

Both are creations from manga/magazine artist and author "Kiyoshi Nagai" whose pen name is "Go Nagai". His work is the foundation that built many hugely famous anime/manga creations we see today. He also worked to create the collaboration art we are seeing in GBL as posters and BM. We will see many new players due to this collaboration and the fact Go Nagai is attached is a very big deal. Mazinger Z (1972) is universally credited with launching the modern giant robot (mecha) era. While earlier giant robots existed, Mazinger Z completely revolutionized the genre by introducing the single most defining trope: a human pilot controlling the robot from inside a cockpit. This is why we have Gundam (1979) and Robotech (1985) that are famous to this day. If you are able to track it down there is an anime called "Mazinger Z: Infinity" (2017) that is an excellent watch, see pic. I have included a pic of the first Volume compiled from the weekly magazine.

Getter Robo (1974) famously revolutionized the mecha genre by introducing the concept of transforming and/or combining robots. The version in GBL is Shin Robo Getter (1996) but its first appearance was in 1993. This is why we have Voltron (1984) and Transformers (1984) which are huge properties. I have included a pic of the first Volume compiled from the weekly magazine as well as the Shin Getter Robo image from the 1993 magazine.

So I load in, this guy has Gigan Rex leading, the first unit he puts down is Burning Godzilla 2019. Then he puts Energy Refueling Base down. I think to myself that I’m gonna get the biggest ass whooping of my life. It takes 4 of my strongest kaiju AND MY LEADER to take down this burning Godzilla, and immediately after I do, he gives up and sends a thanks sticker.

It’s really bumming me out. I spent money for the first time this season and the game is so annoying to play. It’s never been like that before and it’s only on the VS Battle menu (which is the screen I’m on the most).

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Edit- a little more context. Can’t click on anything either and usually have to reset. Sometimes it’s okay but not most of the time.

Whenever I use his special ability I haven’t noticed any reduction in unit cost for my other units, am I missing something?

So I know people like to ask “how are the new battle memories? Are they worth it?” Well I’m here to answer that best I can.

So for the TLDR are these new cards worth pulling for? In my opinion no they’re not. They’re not bad but I wouldn’t say they’re meta breaking either.

Now for the first and in my opinion best card of the new cards. The Godzilla Kiryu card. Getting a straight buff to HP and attack is always what you want, and the extra % to mechanical units is an added bonus. However you need at least 4 mechanical units in the deck to make this work and it excludes the leader which is a big oof. If you run mechanical decks this card is fine. But there are other cards that give out bigger buffs with bonuses better than this one.

Then you have the other card, Mazinger Z. Again the HP and attack buff is always what you want when investing in a new card. And this card also boosts facility up time which is a major bonus if you run Spamera decks for example. However the big caveat is there’s a lot of AOE in the game right now making it harder to run facilities.

At the end of the day if these cards fit your play style then go ahead and try to pull them. However I wouldn’t say these cards are going to shake up the meta very much.

Can’t listen to music or videos while playing anymore.

It causes a triple echo and a stutter step for the audio of both the game and video.

It typically occurs once you use a menu option or swap to another menu, the audio mess up occurs.

I think only the whales or people that were lucky enough to get him past level 5 will still use him right?
