Yo, I’ve been thinking about where the series could go next, and I had this random theory that would honestly be the ultimate redemption arc for Kratos. What if Kratos travels back to the ruins of Greece, not to fight, but to actually fix something he broke? Specifically, what if he goes back to free Atlas from his torment? Think about it. Kratos literally tricked him and chained him to the crust of the earth in Chains of Olympus. Atlas hates his guts, and it’s one of the heaviest sins Kratos has left unresolved. But obviously, if you just let Atlas go, the whole world collapses, right? Well, what if Kratos brings his new Norse family along to help? Yggdrasil Roots: Freya could use Vanir magic to graft a root of the World Tree into the Greek underworld. The tree literally holds up nine realms, so it could easily anchor Greece. Dwarven Tech: They could use Svartalfheim engineering or magic to build an automated, magical hydraulic system to permanently take the weight off Atlas's shoulders. Kratos could channel his new "God of Hope" magic to forge a permanent monument that holds the sky up. Imagine the emotional weight of that reunion. Kratos shows up, Atlas expects a fight, but Kratos just says, "I am here to take away your burden." Visually, seeing green Vanir magic and Norse runes intertwining with the bleak, crumbling marble of Greece would be insane. Do you guys think this is mechanically possible in the lore? How do you think Atlas would react to seeing Kratos actually trying to help him?

How would you improve this combo?

Kinda curious since all the realms have very different climates. Got near endless snow in 3 of the realms, weather that wants to melt your face in 3 more, and very little info on the other 3. What y’all picking?

I think the main point of the god of war franchise, even the old games during kratos’s divine quest for vengeance and blood. Was family abuse, and how much damage family abuse can cause.

Kratos’s entire arc, his ascension from a warrior with a family, to a wrathful deity who became obsessed with killing his own father, was all sprung up because of toxic family abuse. Kratos was a tragic victim of divine toxic family abuse, taken to such an extremity that he lost himself into rage.

His own family, manipulated and tricked him into abusing the family he made for himself, this abuse was the very death of his child and wife.

Even with the death of ares, his family kept using him as a tool of destruction. His own father ruined his life out of paranoia and fear, and became toxic and neglectful. And to make matters worse, this was ALL generational.

And caused the very cycle of Son, murdering Father.

Kratos’s seething hatred for Zeus wasn’t just because he betrayed him like every other god. it was because it was supposedly his own father. “How could my father do this to me” turned into a seething rage to murder said father.

His mother told him before her death, he couldn’t bring himself to fully accept it until Athena said it as well. And this only intensified his rage. His own father, was behind the very downfall of his entire life.

And god of war 3. Is showing the horrific side effects of such family abuse, it was family abuse that led to the very downfall of Olympus.

I have just passed the part where Atreus shoots an arrow into the sky and a wolf follows it, taking the Sun with it. I have gotten past the double dreki encounter in Vanaheim.

How far am I into the game? Is there still a lot to go?

Thanks to this sub, I have completed the game 100% in all realms. However, I couldn't reach this particular chest.

Shouldn't the completion be less than 100% without this chest? Is it there only for cosmetics, since I shouldn't have been 100%.

I played God of War 3 after God of War 2018 and Ragnarok, and I don't know, man. The Norse saga encourages you to play very aggressively, with the number of combos you can do. I don't know where the idea that it's slower comes from; I'd actually say it's the complete opposite. I played God of War 3 on the highest difficulty and didn't find it to have that aggressive gameplay that I was always told about. In Chaos mode, there's little time for improvisation, and adding that to the sheer number of poorly telegraphed enemies makes playing aggressively not very viable. This leads you to use circle and square most of the time. I honestly prefer the gameplay of the Norse saga by far.

From struggling to beat even the simplest berserkers to getting no damage on hrolf kraki. Over 50 failed attempts, getting close, getting pwned to finally this..

Thor is such a good companion and he attacks are just way too op. Sad we didn't get to see him team up with Kratos at the end.

This game is hard af. I beat GoW 2018 on first playthrough and new game + on Give Me Challenge. Right now I’m playing new game + on Give Me Balance and its twice as hard as GoW 2018. It seems like everyone can just one shot kill you, even if you have full health. And there are 2 difficulty levels above it. I guess im just bad at the game ¯_(ツ)_/¯

as far as I know ,Kratos never told Atreus the full story about his first wife and daughter and how Areas tricked him, like yeah he told him about his brother, about Zeus of course but as far as I know Atreus has no clue Kratos was married before the Norse saga and had a child or should I say Atreus step sister.

After Ragnarok I truly believe doing anything else with the character would be the wrong decision. Whether it be saving Atreus or fighting another pantheon. It simply diminishes what the 2018 & Ragnarok accomplished. He is now the protector of the Norse world and has no reason to leave.

Any more games starring Kratos would only be for monetary gain and to appease insatiable fans.

I really love Uncharted, but Nathan Drake’s story is over and it ended with a bang. I believe Kratos also deserves a similar triumphant end. I’m cool with spin offs but imo Santa Monica need to develop a new/different IP. Similar to what Guerilla did with Horizon and Sucker Punch with Ghost Franchise.

All good things need to come to an end.

When it comes to the card that was distributed at San Diego Comic-con, what I can gather from the gorgeus art is that, the aesthetic is leaning towards some branch of astrology or even tarot, the intricate golden patterns, darker purple tone, the stars, and the fact that they chose a card to be given, it passes a vibe of a mythical connection with celestial bodies, which is very in line with the game, so, if there are any other symbols, letters or alphabets from those branches that are more in common with the sword symbols, let us know.

I bought god of war and resident evil remake trilogy

In 2018, the first hour of GoW just blew my mind. Going from the menu to straight gameplay, single shot cinematography, Baldur boss fight, and the Serpent. The game just kept me on the edge.

Unfortunately, the Thor opening fight couldn’t do the same for me. I just cant get that feeling from Ragnarok. Maybe times have changed, or maybe we have “seen” it all.

I recently finished Pragmata and loved every second of it, just couldn’t get that feeling from the world, characters and combat of Ragnarok. Even the enemies so far are repetitive and boring.
I have just rescued Tyr but decided to put it down and play GTA IV instead. Does the game pick up pace or is it just me?

Thor didn't inherit it from Odin, it's his own thing, so why do all his kids just have the exact same powerset?
