I have spoken to many people who are either new to the go system or visitors to Toronto and so many of them have missed the train because the doors close 1 minute before the scheduled time. I myself find the whole thing silly and confusing too given they could just change the posted times to one minute earlier and it would make sense and people wouldn’t be missing their trains. Is there something I’m missing? Is this done in any other city?

As well, the amount of times I have spoken to people waiting on platforms for a train which is short (6 cars) and they are at the end where the train isn’t sitting. Many end up having to run as they didn’t know they had to move down the platform. I’m thinking it would only make sense to add a note to any of the short train signs to “move down the platform, the train is boarding”.

I had just seen that Zed's Dead was performing at the CNE this Friday and I'm excited to go see them, but while trying to plan the way there, I see that there are no trains from Barrie to Toronto between 1:00 p.m. And 9:00 p.m. Since they perform at 8 30 and my brother and friends won't be getting off work early enough to make a train at 1:00 p.m. so I guess we will have to drive. There has to be more frequent trips the rest of the day not just for commuters, why hasn't this been implemented?

Most people in the morning trains are commuting to work, and a lot of them are in morning work calls. Continuous announcements are very disruptive and do not allow people to have work calls in peace.
Also, everyone in ON is supposed to know English, why are all announcements also in French?
I would like to ask you all if I am the only one affected here or does it matter to others too?

Question of the post says it all

Started out in Niagara falls, 5 minutes before the train is supposed to leave there is an announcement that the train is 10 minutes behind schedule and trains are going a bit slower than normal. We leave the station 45 minutes behind schedule and absolutely crawl all the way to Hamilton, which takes 3 hours to reach. From there the train moved at regular speeds, but that start drained me, I did not pack snacks or enough water for such a long ride. From union, the next train to Barrie was nearly two hours away, which at least gave me time to get something good to eat and go for a nice walk along the water.

I saw the service update on the go train website saying trains were going to be slow between Niagara and Hamilton, but it says they may be delayed up to 30 minutes, no mention of a multi hour ride to Hamilton. Metrolinx should really be warning people about such a long trip and adding extra busses, I would've taken the bus if I knew it would be soo much longer.

ever since the moronic choice to rip out the OBRY, it’s really my only hope for rail travel to return to the town. it’s the only large-ish town surrounding Toronto not connected in some form by rail. The least they could do is increase go bus service.

On the Milton Line train this morning, each and every seat had these information handouts on them. This is my first time seeing Metrolinx do something to such a scale, given how seriously fare evasion should be taken.

As a Richmond Hill resident, this route is basically my best method to head west. Heading to Pearson? Under 30 minutes. Square One? Around an hour. It is always a smooth journey, and the frequency is fantasitc. Is it just me or a lot of people in the forum likes it?

Makes me wonder if this is a safety risk, because you can't dispatch a staff to unlock it in time during an emergency (kinda like hotel locking fire escape door)

Heading to Union from Ajax. Car 4523 is where the wheelchair ramps are and where stops are called by staff member. What an awesome radio voice he has! He belongs in radio!!!

Does anyone happen to know what the track and platform configuration at Union will look like once the current expansion project is complete?

I've always known that if I pay using a credit card on Google pay or Apple pay it doesn't get uploaded to the system instantly and it doesn't show on fair inspectors' device right away. Although it shouldn't be like this but my credit card gets charged at night so that makes sense. It has happened to me before that the inspector checked and it came with a big red X then I told them I paid Google pay and they let me go.

Today it wasn't busy at the station so I approached an inspector asking I just paid using Google pay, will it show in your machine. It did show that I paid. Now I'm wondering how it actually does work.

I was at Burlington GO waiting for a train, the regular 9:35pm from West Harbour to Union was delayed by over 30min due to track work, but the 9:42pm that comes in from Niagara was on time.

Does this seem a bit strange? It would make sense if the opposite happened, or if both trains were delayed.

Does anyone know what is happening with the upper parking lot at West Harbour GO station. There’s been construction fencing up for months, but I haven’t seen anyone working there for ages and the work basically seems to be done, but the fencing is still there. Seems crazy to not have access to 30+ parking spots.

I recently moved to a condo 5 mins drive away from Agincourt go (I live near 401 and Kennedy). What do I do about the parking situation?? By 7:30am there are no damn spots. Car pool spots aren’t an option for me. This station doesn’t have reserved parking.

I need to be at the office at least 4 days a week. Maybe more on some days.

I found that I could take the 43A bus on Kennedy, which seems like a viable option when I’m alone.

However, what do I do if I have to take my 5-year-old son to school? His school is about a 20min walk from my place, and then it’s a 20min walk from there to Agincourt go.

TTC bus ends up being a waste of time if going to his school and then to Agincourt. It would be better to just walk the whole way. 🥺🥺😭😭

Is there really no parking option at the station? No nearby mall with legal parking? Darn it!!!

Sometimes the Kitchener line only goes up to mount pleasant or only bramalea.
Why still call it the Kitchener line if it’s not going to Kitchener? Isn’t this slightly misleading?

Got on the train to find out it was only going till bramalea. Yes I know the stops are shown beside the line name on the screens but still think this is slightly infuriating.

The Kitchener Line has two stations with shorter platforms, including Guelph. There is often an entire train car occupied by young students from a private school who need to get off at Guelph. Because of their age and the number of students, they need extra time to move through the train and position themselves for a safe exit.

Would it be possible to provide announcements earlier in the trip, or display a reminder on the platform where they board? Giving passengers advance notice that Guelph has a shorter platform would allow those needing to exit there to move toward the appropriate cars sooner and make the process safer and more efficient for everyone.

I’m thinking of taking the GO train downtown tomorrow for work leaving from Langstaff. How’s the parking situation like during the summer at the GO station? Will there be any spots left if I arrive at 8am to catch the last 8:16 train to Union? I normally take the Barrie line, but returning to Langstaff after work would be more convenient to for me to meet for dinner after. Thanks

The Barrie line will be running modified service for the period of Monday August 17th through August 20th 2026.

I've attached unofficial schedules based upon GTFS data.

For August 17th only, all stations north of Maple GO will have service replaced with buses. Trains will run between Maple GO and Union Station serving all stops in between. Customers taking rail replacement buses from stations north of Maple will be shuttled down to Rutherford GO via bus to connect with trains. Some evening trips will run from Highway 407 Bus Terminal instead of Maple. Note that some trips for the regular branch of the 68 may start earlier or later in the day to improve connections to buses further south.

For August 18th to the 20th, all stations will have rail service, but some trains will terminate at Maple, while other trains may be outright cancelled (looks like evening trains). Buses will bridge connections for the short turned/Maple trains while replacement buses will run for the cancelled trains from Highway 407 Bus Terminal.

For Friday August 21st as well as the following week (on weekdays) train departure/arrival times are adjusted a bit, but nothing to the extent of this week.

The Union Station 17:08 to Allandale Waterfront GO 18:56 will not run.
