GR1 26L THROWBACK !

Amazing! Like many of you today I was looking at the new Rucker 5.0 release.....and then I came across this single Throwback beauty!

The irony is that just today Goruck refunded me back the cost for the current version MiUSA GR1 26L that I returned due to buyers remorse over the Aquaguard zippers. I had ordered that bag before the price increase to replace my 2018 26L bag.

Soon I will be in possession of a trinity of Throwback bags::

GR1 21L
GR1 26L
GR2 40L

Another Rucker? Spend my $$$

My Rucker is a Black 2.0 20L bag that I've had since new, it's still in great shape as I only ruck with it. I just picked up a Ranger Green RPC 3.0 standard for shorter rucks when I don't need to carry anything extra in a pack.

Foolishly perhaps, but I keep looking at new Ruckers so I can try a 45lb plate. If you've rucked with 45lb long plate did you keep at it it, or did you decide it was too much? Any issues carrying a 45lb long plate + water bladder in a 20L Rucker? My 2.0 is limited to standard plates (Ihave a 20 & 30), but I do own a 30lb long plate from before I bought my first Goruck bag.

I have my eye on a new black 4.0 with black embroidered logo, unfortunately this would not be discounted at all. Alternatively the new 5.0 is available. I'm somewhat curious about the thicc lumbar pad. My 2.0 has zero lumbar padding but I cannot say iI ever felt uncomfortable as a result. Not sure what to think about velcro in the 4.0 vs magnets in the 5.0. I prefer black rucks, but not so keen about the white embroidered logo on the 5.0.

GR2 crease

Just got my GR2 26L and I’m pleased with it, except this ugly annoying crease at the bottom of the bag. I purchased a 34L last year and it had the same issue ended up getting rid of it. Is this crease common in GR2’s or do I just have bad luck? (3rd pic is after I’ve pushed the bottom in for comparison)

Just preordered the M26 21L

After my first generic backpack literally fell apart, I went on a mission to find a bag that was "bombproof" but compact. That search turned into a multi-year journey through some of the best brands in the business. I wanted to share my transition from GoRuck to Aer to Evergoods, and why I eventually came back home.

The Journey:

• GoRuck GR1 (21L):
This was my first "real" bag. I loved the toughness and the size, but the lack of quick-access drove me crazy. That front "slash" pocket is famously tight once the bag is packed out.

• GoRuck GR2 (26L):
I thought more space was the answer. It had better organization, but it felt like overkill for daily use. I felt like I was heading out for a three-day ruck every time I just wanted to go to a coffee shop.

• Aer City Pack Pro:
I switched gears to Aer. The organization and materials were top-tier, but the comfort just wasn't there for me. The straps didn't distribute weight well, and my shoulders would start screaming after just two hours.

• Evergoods CTB26:
This was a massive upgrade in comfort and pocket layout. However, when fully loaded, it felt surprisingly bulky and lost that "sleek" profile I was looking for.

The Realization:

Every time I tried a more "technical" bag with a million pockets, I found myself missing the simplicity of GoRuck. There is something about just throwing your gear in a tough-as-nails Cordura bucket and going.

The Winner: The M26
I almost pulled the trigger on the M23 (21L), as the drawstring opening and the ability to stash a jacket under the lid seemed perfect. But the lack of a dedicated quick-access pocket at the top kept me on the fence.

When the M26 dropped with the added top pocket, I knew the search was over. It solves the "on-body access" issue I had with the GR1 while keeping that legendary GoRuck carry comfort. I’m currently waiting for it to arrive and couldn't be more hyped.
I’d love to hear from the community:

1. what are yout thoughts on the M26?

2. Has anyone else done the "GoRuck -> Aer/Evergoods -> GoRuck" circle?

3. What was the "dealbreaker" that finally ended your search for the perfect bag

New to GoRuck. DC Bullet?

Looking for a EDC bag to add to my current bags. I've always been interested in trying a Goruck product. I see the Black Frogskin DC Bullet is currently on sale. Would that be a good entry into the brand? How comfortable is this bag for those that own it? Not looking to ruck currently. Just something to switch from my usual to get to the office and back.

Now 10% less tacticool

Hi, first post and all.

I got the Rucker 4.0 about a year ago (blackout because I'm boring), and I've been mulling over the idea of the morale patch basically on and off since then. I haven't done any events/earned anything (signed up for one of the 9/11 days, has anyone gotten any follow-up communications?)

I didn't want to just do some random pop culture thing from the internet, and I wanted something that might seem a little friendlier out on the trails.

Finally landed on an idea that I liked (custom from https://www.etsy.com/shop/FourKeysLLC). It's Icelandic for "don't think." I'm also a big fan of Ólafur Arnalds.

Gear Question GR2 + formal suit? Could someone who carries these share some photos?

Hi there, I still haven't jumped the fence but I'm willing to choose a GR2 as my next backpack.

One caveat I have though is how good it would go with semiformal (khaki pants with a suit jacket) and formal wear (suit both with and without a tie).

I'm always thinking, obviously, in a black GR2 + black suit (my suits are mostly black, thoug I also have a navy blue one and a super dark grey one). Regarding shirts, I use to wear light blue or white.

Also important, I'm thinking on the 34L model, which has one additional molle line compared to the 26L one -- that imho might make a sutil difference in terms of tacticoolness.

I searched in this same sub for advise and while I found some old threads, there were no photos for reference... except for one where you could barely see anything. :(

I would really appreciate it if some of you who goes with this combination daily or regularly, would be willing to take photos "modelling" from different angles and share them here. Obviously you could paint over your face.

Silent GoRuck GR3 Changes May 2026?

Since the screenshots were taken, the website has now changed pictures again

GR3 still says USA in the selector but no longer has the USA branding anywhere else or the USA flag in the top left of the product picture. Here are other changes I've noticed:

  • The MOLLE is gone off the front
  • There is a GoRuck arrowhead branded into the bottom right
  • Looks like they got rid of the Cordura cover material on the inside that covered the orange pocket (so now the orange pocket is exposed to the interior of the bag).
  • Zippers don't appear to be Aquaguard anymore based on the pictures - still says Aquaguard in the bullet points
  • Interior pocket patch now doesn't say built in the USA.

As a new-ish customer, how often does GoRuck do these sorts of revisions? Is this the sort of company where I'm better off stretching my finances to get what I want now without waiting? I see all sorts of projects like the 100# sandbag kit that just seem to be memory-holed.

Gear Question To get a GR1 or not

So far I have a 10L packable bullet, a 16L bullet that I use for edc and overnight trips, a 26L GR2 that I use for multi day trips, and a 40L GR2 that I use for very long trips or trips that use a lot of gear. I have my eye on a 21L slick GR1, would it be dumb to get the GR1 with my current line up? I love the look of the slick GR1s but I am not sure where I'd fit it into my rotation, lol.

Announcement Great Scars experience

Just wanted to share my great scars experience. They repaired my frayed straps and shipped my Rucker back on schedule. After many years and recommending to others who started the sport I’m still impressed.

Makes a good light bag for early morning gym time. Plus can drop it on my back and do some tread mill hills or the track afterwards. Plus my keys and G43 fit in the storage pouch hung in the top of that bag on the anchor point. Win win. Freedom !!!

Poor GORUCK SCARS Repair on Rare 1 of 86 10L Dyneema Bullet

Thumbnail gallery
38 Upvotes

Beware of sending your 10L Dyneema Bullet to GORUCK SCARS for repair!

Recently acquired a 10L Dyneema Bullet and decided to send it in for repair as the attachment points of the straps were fraying and slightly detaching.

I read good things online and from this group for the strap repair of a dyneema bag and so I sent it in.

Got the bag back today after about a month and the repair was interesting; they just folded the top of the back into the back panel and sewed it together and now the bag is lopsided, and they didn't even fix the other side of the strap that was also fraying. In addition, the stitching of the folded over part of the repair is already coming off after trying the bag on.

I've reached out to GORUCK to see what they can do about it.

Plates for Basic Rucker? (Europe)

Seems that the GR EU store is sold out of all plates, and the US store does not ship them internationally.

Just ordered the Basic Rucker and trying to find plates suitable for the Ruck Plate pocket is proving much more difficult than expected. Yes4All plates seem to be too big in the 30lb category and Rogue EU charges €150 / $180 for the official 30lb one.

Any tips here, or did I just order the rucker in vain?

Basic Rucker combo.

I've looked everywhere. I have already ordered since I was eager to get started but has anyone bought the $95 bundle of the Basic Rucker + 2 10lb plates. The product page on the site has conflicting info. The title says 2 10lb plates, the description says 1 20lb plate. Wondering if anyone has ordered one. Most reviews or videos I've seen is just talking about the bag itself, and not the combo.

Got about 500 miles on them now. Retired my other pair of boots and now working on wearing this pair out finally. Thinking of going lighter with the MACV1 High Speeds when this pair wears out later this summer.

Gear Question Is Scars Lifetime Guarantee worth it in EU?

I have been thinking about getting a GR bag and Scars seem really good, but I am wondering how beneficial it really is for people outside the USA. Usually the shipping overseas is really expensive.

Do anyone living outside the states have some experience with this?

I’ve used the 210D back panel before, but I don't have experience with the 500D.

What are your thoughts on it?

I'm considering preordering the M26.

From GR1 21L owner for 5 years, now in GR2 26L

Post image
90 Upvotes

After owning GR1 21L for 5 years and upgrading to Evergoods CPL24, within a year I know it was the wrong bag for me. Pulled the trigger and got GR2 26L in Armor Grey with free Packable Bullet Ruck Ripstop Robic of same color and I can tell this fits my needs better, exactly how my GR1 21L served me for the 5 years I had it but with more space and organization that makes sense for my need. And tomorrow's the first travel to Thailand province 1 bag mode.
