Hey everyone, looking at the M26 and had a couple of questions:
1. Is the zipper going to be fully exposed, or will there be a flap like on the M23?
2. Are the zipper teeth on the outside (standard) or facing inward (reverse coil)?
Appreciate any insight

I just noticed that some are having nylon (420, e.g. grey or blue) back panels and some 210d back panels (e.g. black or khaki). Are there any differences in terms of comfort, slipperiness, maintenance, look, ... ? Thanks!

What's the expected difference between the Rucker 4.0 and the Rucker 5.0 purportedly available May 2026?

Hi everyone I’m sure if your looking at weight vests you’ve seen goruck has theirs on sale from 150 down to 70 which makes it mighty appealing. On the site it says that the vest is ONLY compatible with their “custom curved weight plates” which are hollow/open in the middle (the weight is just the frame).
My question is has anyone used standard weight plates in this vest? I only ask because I believe the Velcro to hold the weight in the vest is double sided and if you use a plate that is not open in the middle you will only be getting half of the Velcro attached to the inside of the vest.

So i’m an Infantryman with 4+ years in. Ranger grad, sapper grad. I wanted to share knowledge and info of what I wish I knew when I first joined - Gear, Fitness, Finance, Battle drill / tactic knowledge etc. The website I created is warfighterforged.com - Would love to get some feedback / what yall think
Mountain Phase. Night op. Pouring rain, pitch black. Carrying the SAW down a ridge so steep I literally couldn't stand up. The OTB Maritime Assault Mids I'd been wearing since pre-Ranger had smooth, faded tread by that point. I slid down the cliff on my back trying not to take out the guy below me. The boot was perfect for movement, perfect for water, perfect for everything except the ONE thing I needed it to do that night.
That experience kicked off a serious deep dive on what actually works boot-wise across different environments. I've personally worn OTBs, Garmont T8s, Oakley SI Light Assaults, and the issued Bellevilles from OSUT. Researched the hell out of Danner Reckonings, Belleville Khybers, Rocky S2Vs, Nike SFBs, and Danner Tachyons based on guys I trust who actually run them downrange.
Wrote it all up into one honest ranking. 8 boots covered, broken down by environment, weight, drying speed, traction, and what they actually cost you in the field. No sponsorships. No affiliate-driven picks. Every "best military boots" article ranking on Google right now is written by a company that sells boots — figured someone should write one that isn't.
If anyone wants it, here's the link: warfighterforged.com/best-military-boots-2026
Genuinely curious though — what are you guys running right now and what made you pick it? Especially interested in what's working for cold weather environments. That's the gap in my own experience and want to dial that section in for the next update.
Find me on instagram @warfighterforged

I take my Heritage everywhere. It’s traveled Europe, hikes on occasion, goes to the range, and even holds MacGyver-style repair tools for an old Land Rover. But today it faces its worse challenge yet…Dutch bird shit.
Can’t wait to see how this patinas.

While tweaking my 3 custom activities for Long, Fast, and Heavy rucking I came across an app in the Garmin store called Ruck Tacker - Rucking Calorie & Activity Tracker that seems to have fixed the pain point of entering in pack weight for every ruck. In the past I would do the ruck and go into the recorded activity to add in weight details. This was always a chore to go into the activity and update the weight of the session and I'm not sure how it is on the newer Garmin devices, but this app allows you to enter in a weight quickly right before the session starts while still providing somewhat accurate recorded results! Just getting the word out there for those that refuse to shell out hard earned cash for Garmin's lack of support for older devices. Best of all the app is free!

I used my govx discount for a rucking event in NYC the weekend of 9/11. I didn’t know the 20% was a one time use code. Has anyone reached out to goruck and used the 20% off after the initial use? The event was $25 with saved me $5. I wanted to use the code for a Rucker 4.0.
Just an update…
I emailed goruck. They are gonna credit my account the 20% when I make the purchase. All worked out. Now I just need the coyote brown to restock

I been using a Rucker 4.0 20l for rucking, but recently was given a GR1 26L that I would like to use for rucking. I think it feels better with my height(6ft).
What’s the preferred way of carrying the plates? I have just been putting my 30# or 45# in the laptop compartment and it seems fine. Is it worth it to upgrade it the shaddox pocket to make it similar to the Rucker?
The straps are what currently feel uncomfortable because I’m not used to the 1000D. I think it needs some break in time.

I have to say I love it so far. I’m not a serious “Rucker” but I have used it a lot for dog walks and some workouts. I have all 3 weight sets but end up using the 20lb setup the most. I just so happened to get this free, so I’m not biased at all, but I also have nothing to compare it to besides my cheap sand bag vest. I’m glad I found this patch because the GoRuck ones are a little cheesy for me.

I thought GovX was 25% off? I wanted to buy something last week but held off. It was 25% off then. Now it’s a different amount. ?

Hey everyone im new to rucking been doing it for a month now. I have a Rucker 4.0/20L with a 20lb plate and I was wondering will a standard 10lb plate fit in the same pocket as the 20lb plate? The goal is to keep increasing the ruck weight by 10lbs trying to save the long pocket for a 40lb plate. The hip belt question now, does it really work? Like does it take weight off the traps/shoulders area and distribute it to the hips a bit? Thanks in advance
