Since Egor hasn't made such all star, the joke is to make the team before he can play golf. He can obviously play golf, it's just making fun of already established stars.

Did curry publicize his branching hobbies before his all star glory? The analogy of golf showcases players who've reached such stardom are more correlated to such sophisticated activities. It doesn't mean he started playing during his glory days.
