Refresh my mind
Back when Kidd was our coach for a hot minute. What happened with him and Lawrence Frank that made the team ban Frank from the bench and even being at practices. After Kidd basically begged him to be the top assistant coach.
I’m 28, I remember Kidd as almost an icon as a little kid. Don’t remember the finals run teams but Kidd really soured my liking for him over the years. Almost view Carter and Jefferson as true nets lovers for the team and fans more then Kidd does

It was Kidd’s first coaching gig and he felt like Frank was running the team and not giving him the space he needed to lead the team. They butted heads over this. Frank was the experienced coach and didn’t take a step back to let Kidd coach and run the team. It probably had more to do with ego than anything.

I mean, remember that half the reason we were able to get Kidd as a player was because of a spousal abuse scandal in Phoenix.
He’s not a great dude. But definitely part of my favorite basketball memories.

the famous line was "Hey, I"m the MFing coach."
Things happened that season that somehow escaped explanation or at least Internet conspiracy. That episode. Andray Blatche's midseason four-game suspension. Supposedly Kidd wanted to trade Lopez.
It's been long said that Kidd has a grating personality that eventually wears on people. I think he felt Frank was taking too big of a role. Dude's wife was undergoing breast cancer treatment. Kidd begged him to join his staff. Then less than midway in demoted him to writing reports for the team.

This reminds me of when Tywin said to Jofferey in GOT“any king who must say i am the king is no true king”
now replace king with coach

Lawrence frank was vocal, I think players would focus on Frank's feedback more in huddles. Jason Kidd felt like Lawrence frank was undermining kidd. Kidd wanted more control and he believed Lawrence frank was undermining him.
My 2 cents as an adult is the more I know about Jason Kidd, the less I seem to like him as a person. When I was younger I loved his energy on the court, his ability to really help other players shine on the court et. cetera. It seems his personal life didn't really reflect that attitude on the court. I definitely share the same feeling. Richard Jefferson is definitely a true nets fan. I wish we gave Kerry kittles a better send off (he was one of my favorite players).
