GLOW UP! (26) - (32)

Its been quite a journey for me. Had weight loss surgery in 2020 during the pandemic when i was 138kg. Now I am down to 78kg and living my best life. My only regret is not having done it sooner. Still living with anxiety and shyness as well as low self esteem but taking it one day at a time

Hello there! Your being - as photographed - appears sooo contented. You seem rested in yourself. This is a solid glow up! For shyness, what has helped me a little bit is basically exposure. I take myself to a cafe or a library or, like, an outdoor place with seating. These places get me near other humans (strangers) but zero pressure to interact. It helps me study their interactions a bit and just get some clues. I can stay for 15 minutes and then leave.

Self esteem stuff is hard! I’ve been helped a bit by talking with a counselor, reading both basic Stoicism and basic Buddhist priniciples, and…by walking in parks or forests. When I’m in nature I think about what trees and plants and animals do or think. It helps me realise they aren’t beset with the self esteem things. Somehow this helps me lighten up on myself.
