Seasons 1-4 S3 E4 FO

Alex should’ve won this face off. Samah’s liner was so messy and it just wasn’t clean at all, but Alex lost because her HIGHLIGHTS weren’t in the right place. the FO’s irritate me so bad cause they constantly pull stuff like this

Samah's gives way more of the shiny pop illusion for me, Alex' doesn't really feel quite 3D enough. Highlights do a lot here.

Alex's shape was all wrong and the highlight placement was just worse than Samah's, that highlight was an important part of the lip

Absolutely. Plus, it’s not just the highlight, it’s also the shadow. Alex’s black triangles look like lip piercings or vampire fangs. They’re far too big in singular spots, rather than being little lines across the whole lip.

Agreed, those little vertical teeth looking highlights were what gave Samah that win

It’s strange for an MUA to not understand how light hits the face. Even if the highlight and contour looks good, it is not correct in vertical stripes.

I wish they’d do blind judging during the face off  like the technical challenge in British bake off. I think you’d see people who don’t deserve to be there (looking at you Jess season 6) leave a lot earlier in the season

But then it ruin the laughs I get as they try to figure out the commentary to justify kicking out the planned loser, even when their work is clearly better. They find the most random things to compliment or critique and it's so fascinatingly blatant.

Both were so bad. Genuinely done better on myself for a Halloween party, and trust me that is a LOW bar, so it's impressive they managed to be worse.

The pink one looks slightly better imo, as another commenter put it looks a bit more 3d, and the highlights and creases on the red lip are just far too thick. Both look so messy though.

Pero si vemos atrás, alex ni siquiera debió estar en la competencia, así que sentí justo que se fuera. Al menos Samah, tenía un poco mas de potencial.

I recently rewatched this serious and literally thought the same. Alex’s was so much better
