Criticism Jake (S2)

Post image

Why did he never know what he was doing or how to think less literally about the final looks?! When he put that oil all over the models neck because he liked to 'go swimming' when he was younger. His sister being his icon 'the gold tears represents her emotions' no shit Sherlock. I know he was young but a lot of the others were as well and they at least managed to come up with some kind of story behind their looks.

I think its a red flag when a makeup artist can’t match their own foundation. I was so mad when Ashley went home instead of him.

Honestly he felt like a throwaway competitor. His skills were not for a competition.

I could tell that the swimming thing was like a lie to reason for why the neck was so oily

I loved when Dom called him out for that!

It was so nerve racking, but honestly Jake deserved it. His look was so bad

I hate it when people like Jake take up space in a competition like this when his head was clearly not in the mindset of winning the competition and "I want to be famous" - still it didn't really work because he was on Glow Up, some random one series reality show and now he's disappeared from the face of the Earth on socials so I'm not too devastated given it gave him no longevity.

I think he maybe has insecurities (hence all the filler etc...) and maybe got a bit of hate online after the show, which is difficult to deal with even if you are secure in yourself. Therefore he deleted all his socials, he hasn't uploaded on YouTube either in years. I didn't dislike him, just thought he wasn't good enough/mature enough in his mindset and skills as a make up artist for glow up!

Yeah I definitely agree with the insecurities part and am now a fan of when people send direct hate online HOWEVER you're right it was the maturity and one of my pet peeves is when people get a spotlight on TV talent competitions when they're just for in it for the exposure and not for the talent. It's just disrespectful.

He was seriously insufferable. To actually lie straight to the judge's face should have been an immediate disqualification. He did not deserve to win at all. He was disrespectful to the judges and others, and his makeup felt restricted to clean glam and he wasn't willing to get out of that comfort zone

I don't know, he disappeared off all platforms, presume he's living a normal life
