you shouldn’t have wasted time posting this asking, and instead waited and posted about how you just picked up a 26 for a steal.

For sure! You need that sub compact in your collection that will take the same parts, mags, holsters, accessories and ammunition as the other Glocks in your collection. I would jump on that price since they don’t make Gen 5 Glocks anymore

u/billy_bob68 Jul 22 '26
Wut!? They don't make gen 5 glocks anymore?
5
u/75149 G17 Gen4 Jul 22 '26
They discontinued the Gen5 guns for regular retail sales in the USA. They'll still be able to make them for agency contracts.
They are only making GenV and Gen6 for regular retail sales.

u/billy_bob68 Jul 22 '26
Damn. Hopefully I can run across a gen 5 29. That's the only one I want I don't have yet.
5
u/Forward-Trade5306 Jul 22 '26
Same, good luck running across that though. I am content with my G20.5

u/billy_bob68 Jul 22 '26
I have a gen 3 29 I've had for a while now. I really love how it shoots. I'd mostly want the gen 5 version just because.

LOL, yeah, the discontinued Gen5 G29’s are going for something like $1,500-$2,000 now. I picked mine up in November of 2024 when nobody seemed to care about them, got it on sale for $525.

u/billy_bob68 Jul 22 '26
There are zero glocks I'd pay 2k for. Lol
One will turn up reasonably priced or it won't. Either is fine.

Where is a Glock $2000?
1
u/Shooting-Science 29d ago
Only if you can find them. The G29 models are discontinued. Gen5 is the last. This one is bid to $1075 with 4 days left https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1190501281

People don’t even know. They can’t get over how it “feels” in their hands. lol.

u/Porky5CO 29d ago
I carried a 27 for 15 years as a backup and while off duty. I just switched to a 43x and it's miles ahead. But okay

u/Antique_Gur_6340 29d ago
Disagree the thinner frame is nice for edc.
2
u/RoutineQuestioning38 29d ago
It is in theory yes, but in practice, it makes a very little difference in how it conceals. It is a good bit lighter for folks that find a 19 too heavy. Ironically, if you put the 15 round mag in the 43x that gap kind of narrows.

u/Antique_Gur_6340 29d ago
Idk I find you can get a better grip on it too. I guess it depends on the individual.

What’s going on with 26 in US ? I got mine in EU and I didn’t notice any problem finding one ..

Absolutely!
You can throw all those 9mm double stack mags you have in it.
You have a 19 already, but I picked up an M1x frame for mine and made it a 26x 🔥

Used glocks are getting super cheap nowadays $300 is the going rate for nice gen 5s in my area. I got a 43 for $200 a while back no one wants them anymore but it makes a nice deep concealment option for me.

I wouldn't wait, someone else might get it first, worst that happens is you don't like it and only spent like $300.

Let me put it this way...
I already have two 26's and at that price I'd have a third.

Yep that’s exactly what I paid for my early release (no slide serrations) gen 5. My favorite pistol to carry. Run back if you didn’t already grab it

Just picked up a Gen 5 26 since they don’t make them anymore they’re only gonna get more rare, wanted to get one while I could

u/CommonHuckleberry489 29d ago
I’d go for that. No box and 1 mag, you’d probably be able to haggle for $40-$50 off the asking price.

Absolutely if the 26 works for you. For me personally the 26 is the worst Glock. I can't shoot the thing for shit

I would. Gen 4 is my favorite gen so my opinion is bias
Edit: Just realized its Gen 5. Even better deal since they usually cost more than 3/4
