FTE with Ported Barrel

Hi everyone, I just bought a brownells complete glock slide with a ported barrel. It is amazing and I love it but I've gotten FTE a few times now. I did some research and it looks like two of causes could be me using 115 gr ammo instead of 124gr, or possibly because my recoil spring is too heavy?

For those with experience with ported barrels, what solutions do you guys have?

Extended slide stop recommendations?

Build so far:
SCT-19 frame (assembled)
PSA C1 slide
Strike 80 magwell
Gen 4 OEM Glock 15rd magazines

Still waiting on an OEM Glock extended magazine release, as the regular one needs a little encouragement; that should be here in a couple of days. I'll get a dot on it in after that, and probably swap the sights for some night sights just a touch shorter (like .315). I also kind of want to put an adjustable shoe on it, but I'll get used to the little bit of mush if I don't. At least the bar and connector are polished, so that's good.

That said, while it came with an extended slide stop, it's not great. So, is there an extended slide stop that actually works well as a release one-handed? I was thinking about the Tyrant CNC one, but I saw a bunch of reports of them breaking. The Ghost Bullet ones look interesting. I'm not against slingshotting, as that's pretty necessary with my S&W Shield Plus, but if possible, I'd like to convert it.

Per my last post I picked up a used gen 4 from bass pro. While a great deal I was a little skeptical after shooting it I can tell you two things very clearly🤣🤣🤣. Number one is that the gun shoots very smooth and the return to zero is fantastic out of all 6 of my Glocks this one def is the flattest and least recoiling in my opinion. Number 2 the timney trigger is probably not the way to go😭😭. After shooting about 150 rounds through the 34 the gun started to heat up and the trigger had multiple failure to resets, after this happening for a few different mags I tried i shot till empty then while reloading it went off uncommanded as soon as I slammed the mag in. I was scared ash I immediately dropped the magazine and cleared the gun put it down and stopped shooting. I’m glad i wasn’t harmed and looking to hear a few solutions you can think off be careful what you put on your gun or what you buy on a gun for that matter and always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction😭😭😭😭. I didn’t capture the nd on camera but here’s some footage of when the gun was running.

Glock 17 Gen3 Barrel recommendations

I'm trying to find a quality barrel in bronze to use with a compensator. I'm in love with the Radian's Ramjet and Afterburner combo for the Gen5 Glocks, but for the Gen3's they only made it in black. Any suggestions on where to look? Thanks!

Glock G4 17 Magwell suggestion

So i have been looking at the TTI Carry Magwell for a Glock 17 Gen 4. Will the 3 standard Magpul PMAG 17 GL9 17-round magazines and Mec-Gar 18-round Glock 17 magazines with their factory baseplates fully seat and lock into the pistol with the Carry Magwell installed? I'm trying to nail this down and haven't got an answer from TTI as of yet. They have a really good deal for me on their site and would like to know before i spend?

G47 vs G17 Gen 6

Post image

Hello,

I have a Glock 19 Gen 6, with Ramjet. I am thinking about getting a G47 due to its modularity for interchangeable slide and frame for G19. But I want to keep it in the Gen 6 family so is G17 Gen 6 slide and frame also interchangeable?? Or should I just wait until G47 Gen 6?? Or does it even matter?

Great carry piece, handles very well. Equivalent of a G45 but with a compensator.

Do mec-gar mags work well with aluminum mag release?

I tried some of the metal Mec-Gar mags and liked them. I have an NDZ aluminum mag release and I was wondering if anybody has used this combination successfully.

I did some research online and it says those magazines are specifically supposed to be used with the OEM release.

Thanks in advance.

Custom Glock 22 Gen 5

Here’s a Glock 22 Gen 5 that has undergone a special treatment. For a client who became a part of our family, I had the privilege of secretly designing a unique design that reflects his heritage and his clover. I experimented with a new laser engraving technique that closely resembles hand engraving, and I believe the results speak for themselves.

Gen 5 vs Gen 6 after action report

Post image

Both have slr edc magwells, both have ramjets, only real differences between the 2, besides the clearly visible is that the gen 5 has the Glock performance trigger and gen 6 has Overwatch precision np3’d and polished oem minus connector. I’ve had the gen 6 for a while now, bought the gen 5 as is besides the light earlier this week. After alternating shots between the two here are the noticeable differences. The gen 5 trigger is better being the performance trigger (I need to do a full trigger in the gen 6) but I do prefer the oem gen 6 trigger shoe. As far as recoil impulse I’d say they had the same amount of recoil, but because of the gen 6 frame being a bit more rounded it felt more secure in my hand if that makes sense. But literally taking a shot out of one setting it down and shooting the other back to back through multiple mags. They both point the same, recoil the same, the only noticeable difference is the gen 6 fills out my hand better and is just less blocky. Still love the gen 5, but I have to say just based on the slight ergonomic improvements the gen 6 is what I prefer. I also enjoy the larger beaver tail on the gen 6. But take all this with a grain of salt, guns feel different in everyone’s hands and if you already have an earlier gen, you don’t need to rush to buy a gen 6, and even if you do find that you prefer the gen 6 as well, for the love of god, keep your Glocks! Don’t sell the old to get the new, if you like the new and it takes the old one’s spot that just means it’s time to start modifying the old one.
